what if The Muppet Movie was basically a 90-minute Muppet Show?

I think it would have been a dreadful idea and would never have worked. There had been quite a few UK TV shows that had been made in to films pre-1979 and the bulk of them were just old scripts being re-hashed for the big screen. Even today you see film versions of TV shows re-hashing old...

    Nancy Walker TMS episode nitpicks

I think you're taking it all a bit *too* seriously.

Incidental music in the Mummenschanz episode

If memory serves me rightly, the Morsels revealed that all the Mummenschanz sketches used original music composed by Derek Scott especially for the episode.

    Pigs' Lullaby Of Broadway Question

You may as well ask why did they do certain song numbers in certain ways? The bulk of the musical numbers were incongruous in one way or another - that was the whole point.

Your Thoughts: The Muppet Show Season 2

That's not fair; you have to remember that the people who run Muppet Central don't do this for a living but as a hobby. I'm sure there will be guides eventually but we are going to have to be patient and wait.

It wasn't; re-read the first post in this thread.

The Stuff You Might Have Missed: Elton John/Julie Andrews/Gene Kelly

    It's a play-on-words by Fozzie. Foul - foul ball; Fowl - chicken.

The Stuff You Might Have Missed: Steve Martin/Carol Burnett/Gilda Radner

Richard Hunt is certainly laughing, but *not* as Janice. He cuddles up to a female Whatnot and not Wanda. This particular Whatnot had already appeared in the first season. Statler and Waldorf are the judges and while they do dance in their box, they're not counted as contestants. I...

Your Thoughts: The Muppet Show Season 2

Technically that's not true; certainly there were five recording blocks made up of 24 eps each, but in the UK Season Two consisted of 30 episodes, and Season Three consisted of 18.

Your Thoughts: The Muppet Show Season 2

It took place in the Muppet Theatre, but it was used to promote "The Great Muppet Caper". "The Muppets Go Hollywood" was used to promote "The Muppet Movie". They feature the characters, but they're not relevant to TMS.

Your Thoughts: The Muppet Show Season 2

One of the problems with a lot of those specials is that they are not applicable to TMS. "Muppets Go to the Movies" and "Muppets Go Hollywood" were specials to promote the first two films, and the John Denver specials were holiday specials that featured the TMS characters but are not *really*...

Your Thoughts: The Muppet Show Season 2

Ummm...that isn't right at all. I think you'll find that TV shows are first released in their "home" region (for want of another word) first before it is released in other regions. I suspect the R2 and R4 versions will come out nearer the end of the year, if not the start of next year...

Your Thoughts: The Muppet Show Season 2

Are the end credits a mixture of UK left-hand and US centred as per the first season set? Has the cow sound effect been left in at the end of the Julie Andrews episode? With regards to the Elton John episode UK spot(s), is there a fade to black between the two?

TMS Season 3 broadcast order - help

Actually, the recording blocks for TMS are just simply the 24 episodes that made up each "season" - ie 5 blocks made up of 24 episodes each. As for the US airdates, I believe TV Tome lists the New York airdates.

TMS Season 3 broadcast order - help

UK or US? And do you mean the episodes that were broadcast as the third season or the 24 episodes that made up that particular recording block?

    Where Did the Magic Go?

I'm afraid that is not true at all; these days a lot of young kids have *great* difficulty in identifying with retro series mainly due to the way these shows were recorded compared with today - ie long scenes that last five or more minutes as opposed to the short bursts you see on TV today...

    Muppet Show with Connie Stephens

That was Connie Francis, not Connie Stevens. Unless Connie Stevens did a version as well.
