From analyzing the trailer, it looks like the fake Kermit is hosting the Muppet Show. At :26 seconds in, you can see the collar different than the regular collar Kermit has. Walter was an important part in "The Muppets". But you can move on and say Walter was only needed for the story to get Kermit and company back together again in the movie, and that he isn't needed in the next film. I just don't see the importance of having him back. But this is only my opinion.

That has to be the studio's idea, trying to crank out a sequel as fast as possible. Problem with this is it's going to be over kill. Best to have a new movie in the works and come out sometime in 2014, that way the audience will be asking for another muppet movie at the same time, and the timing...
