I just watched it, and it was a little better than I remember. Still, the Charles Blitzen thing was just excruciatingly nasty for Sesame Street.
But hey... I didn't notice this the first time, but Herry has a background cameo near the end of the special.
I honestly don't understand why they don't just release the original music, but it defeats the purpose of a cover album to not screw around with the musical arrangements. Then you get karaoke, not a cover album.
I'll admit, "I'm a Little Stewpot" is the only preview I listened to. Metal...
And guess what? Peter blew his brains out at the end of last episode, and he's coming back like nothing happened. Mortality on this show is nothing to take seriously.
I looked at the season's episode guide and found at least 2 episodes with Brian's name in the title. I'm thinking those were...
A lot of Atari games were pretty simplistic and would probably work as LCD handhelds if you think about it. Simple game play for preschool kids makes sense. Still, Grover's Music Maker just doesn't seem like it could hold the attention of a little kid for very long. It would have been great...
Ralph has unexplored depths that wouldn't detract from the film if they added onto it. It made a decent amount of money, but found older fans of retro games flocked to the movie instead of the snot eating 6 year olds who just wanted to see more farting prehistoric characters saying. The makers...
That was more a funding credits than a true closing theme. But yeah, that's every old school Sesame Street fan's jam. Even the PBS broadcast episodes of Shalom Sesame had the Funky Chimes at the end...
it comes in at 1L13 or so... but I vividly remember seeing this after those episodes...
The problem with the special is that whoever wrote it clearly only had the barest of knowledge of Sesame Street. And that was "Oscar is the mean one. Big Bird was the not mean one." I find Elmo's Christmas Countdown to be kinda garish, loud, and uncharacteristically mean (Charles Blitzen's...
I loyally watch the show, even though I don't enjoy it as much as I used to back when it first came out. Vinny really doesn't do much on the show compared to the character he replaced...well, so far. He basically said some homophobic joke that came off rather hateful than trollingly...
Whatever has been finished is lost forever. There's those 3 completed episodes, and they have to exist somewhere... but I don't think anyone kept the completed live action segments, and there's no telling how many of the animated segments were completed in full. It would be amazing if Disney...
Somehow, I'm a Little Stewpot should have been metal. Or at least something sort of wacky, Frank Zappa-esque. Instead, they went for weird music with women moaning the lyrics like Tina from Bob's Burgers.
Hey Henson... how about releasing the original songs instead?
Digit: Hasn't been seen since JHH except for one unlockable video game appearance in Muppet Cruise Party.
Fiama: Last seen in Bohemian Rhapsody. Somehow, paired with Sal all those years, the character can't be seen without him, so either Sal needs to be recast or Brian needs to come back to...
Thankfully, Disney really hasn't done much of that after The little Mermaid 3 was too deep into production to cancel. Planes was intended to be a series of films, so that doesn't count. I'd say, other than some magazine comics and kid's books, there's not much else of a place to revisit the...
Barring ones like me who only can buy these things when they have rare times when they have actually have money, I see what you're saying. I swear there are those who are absolutely convinced that if it's nothing on the level of Palisades action figure quality, it's not worth their time, refuse...
Really?
It's specials like this that make me wish I had a blog so I could rip this to shreds. It has none of the charm of Sesame Street and all of the creepiness of Anne Murray singing a love ballad to Big Bird.
Bill's one of the modern masters of animation right there. He has a way with extremely violent imagery that isn't sloppily handed. One of my favorites was a battle between two guys doing horrible stuff to each other, and at the end they both sissy punch each other and start crying. At least...
I'd need to see Frozen, but I don't think it would need a sequel. Disney hasn't had much luck with fairy tale based movie sequels (though I did like the Aladdin Trilogy). I'd hope to see one of Wreck-it Ralph (the filmmakers want to do one), as it is an original character story, and there's a...
