I knew about the....thing...before hand, but in all honesty, I didn't notice it at all. I was too wrapped up in seeing Russel Crowe and thinking about the South Park episode about it.
Play With Me Sesame is basically just a framing device for reused Sesame material, and the new stuff is slightly more entertaining than your average EW episode. But, they have played a lot of vintage clips.
Man of Steel was a tad confusing at times (both in the way the scenes were presented, but also some plot errors), but it wasn't too bad. Acting was great (though Amy Adams seemed to be just Amy Adams, but sterner), effects were great and the plot was fine too. The sequencing when he first lands...
I don't recall the name, but some other company does the AFFS material.
All the rest is done by Magnetic Dreams, which is the company Rickey Boyd works for that D'Snowth mentioned.
Elmo was getting pretty popular with that crowd and in general, children's TV audiences got younger, with hits like Barney and the like.
From what I understand, the new block format was a way of bringing back some older viewers (over the age of 3) and it apparently worked. And Elmo the Musical...
That fact is that Rotten Tomatoes doesn't do the reviewing though. The most they do is a like a sentence or two that covers what everyone else has said.
Something neat: The season's going to have a new, bi-lingual version of "I Love My Hair" (which seems a tad too recent to warrant a remake), which Armando's actor actually wrote as part of his audition.

Apparently, that "Loaf of bread, container of milk, stick of butter" remake was made way more in advance than its season 43 debut.
