Well, the forecast is saying that today will finally be the last day of this infernal heat wave (then again, that's what they said two Saturdays ago), so I hope that's true, because I really, truly, cannot take this anymore.
Since this is about over now, I believe PL mentioned a few pages back...
1. Yes, I helped the trend on Facebook. I don't remember Jim ever trending on Facebook all day like he has today.
2. I feel like perhaps THE MUPPETS (2011) movie, if only because when I saw it in theaters, there were way more adults than there were kids, which I feel like would have been a sigh...
Since the old one was deleted, and it was just started to be active again, might as well start a whole new thread and continue the fun.
1. Did you do anything in honor of Jim Henson's birthday today?
2. What post-Jim Muppet/Henson project do you think Jim would be most proud of if he could see...
Well, we are getting this TV movie about D.W.'s fifth birthday (which again, retcons her last fifth birthday) this year, so I suppose that's something.
But yeah, a lot of people have been asking for DVD sets of older episodes and seasons.
And funnily enough, after Obama won his first election, a bunch of these right wing nutcases were like, "Uh, well, yeah, we did vote for him, but only because we didn't want to be racist."
But I agree, eight years of this probably wasn't even worth electing Obama into office, because ever since...
Seriously, I have to put up with this all the time, which is why this year, I decided I was going to b!+c# about summer to anybody I encountered when they ask the mandatory, "how are you today?" Though, to my surprise, a number of people actually sided with me about it.
Still, it would be nice...
Wow, they even have an official election map and everything, and presently, Count Chocula is dominating the polls . . . meanwhile, Boo Berry is leading in only a handful of states, and apparently Frankenberry is leading only in Montana.
Republicans have always been disgusting, but my God, they're sinking to an all-new low level of disgusting: they keep using these shootings as opportunity to spread their usual bigoted and racist venom. How many times this week alone has an unarmed black person been killed by a white cop? And as...
Lordy, I could go all day in this thread.
Well, in addition to the ones PL already shared, there's also. . . .

The other evening, I spent quite a bit of time picking up litter from our portion of the neighborhood, mainly because I got sick of looking at it, and nobody else was doing anything about it (heck jerks, we have trashcans along the side of the road), and that was all well and good . . . but then...
Saw Frankenberry at Walmart today (and strangely enough, not the other two), so I got my first four boxes today, and I see this year they're mocking the election season by having you go online, vote for your favorite, and try to win $5,000 or other prizes.
I noticed on the back of the box, they...
Well, by the time I graduated (nine years ago), yeah, they were still teaching geography. Of course, it seemed like as soon as I graduated, then they started making so many changes, so who knows? Like, for instance, when I was in school, a second language was a requirement only for high school...
They said on the news yesterday that we're close to our record amount of 90+ degrees days for a year this year: the current record stands at 78 days, which was set back in the 1930s (1936, I believe they said), and we're presently at 74 as of today, and we still have a couple of more days to go...
Much of the public kind of is, however, networks evidently think the public wants more of this kind of thing, which is why they keep cranking it out, when in all reality, networks don't have a clue what the public wants.
