Lack of Jim Henson Clips on SST Lately

I wonder about that. It seems like that's never stopped them before. But they used to do a lot of different things before than they did now. Personally, I think that would be a dumb reason not to play clips with Henson's Ernie, because the voices are close enough for kids who watch not to...

Rumor: Big Bird only in four Season 41 episodes

I checked the website and despite BB not getting much airtime, the season sounds pretty good. I'm assuming they meant to say 'Herry (Monster)' when they described 'Harry' as Oscar's employee. It will be good to see him and Bert in a street scene. It's also nice to see Barkley and a Telly...

Lack of Jim Henson Clips on SST Lately

One thought I had on that was maybe they feel that people already can see those clips on You Tube or the Sesame Workshop website, so I guess they figure 'why bother?' I guess it does get costly to play old clips especially with PBS cutting the funding these days.

Rumor: Big Bird only in four Season 41 episodes

In a way, I can understand what Snowth is saying because if neither Carroll or Matt is available to play him, then they probably will limit his airtime. But I agree with DrTooth as well, they can't just phase out their most famous character. Well, I guess second most famous, next to Elmo. It...

    Sesame Street TV References

I guess we should mention last night's Family Guy with parodies of Big Bird, Oscar, Bert and Ernie. Can't remember what the exact names were though.

    Your Favorite Forgetful Jones Moments

Yeah. I saw that on the website. I hope someday that I can feel that way about a girl. BTW, in response to a previous post, Forgetful and Clementine aren't married. Not yet anyway.

Rumor: Big Bird only in four Season 41 episodes

That actually doesn't surprise me that much. BB had very little airtime in season 38 as well. Still I find it hard to believe they'd phase out one of their most popular characters. But if Spinney actually mentioned it.... we'll just have to wait and see. I hope they're wrong. BTW, I...

Your Thoughts: Kermit and Miss Piggy on America's Got Talent

It's alright. You're entitled to your opinion. It's just a little surprising that it's different from the rest of ours. I guess you're one of those people who feels that it's true some people felt that other performers could do a closer Kermit to Jim's Kermit than Steve has done, and that's...

    Oh man, what happened to?

Keep in mind that Roosevelt was supposed to make a cameo this year, unless they edited out that cameo for that same reason. Hoots still appears on occassion. Remember the famous 'Cookie is a Sometime Food' song? Of course we saw Barkley in this year's season premiere, as for Alice, well...

Times Where Bert DOESN'T Fly off the Handle...

Well, it might be hard for Bert to yell at that point, considering his voice does sound stuffy without his nose. Yeah. Bert did overreact about the painting thing. But his rant was mainly that he had other things to do that day and he didn't want to sit still for Ernie's painting only to...

Loretta Long Struck by a Car

Yeah. This thread hasn't been updated in a while so I don't know how Loretta's doing. Hopefully she'll be better by the time next season starts, or have they already started filming that before this happened? I agree with that. A lot of times I'd be walking down the road and I'd see cars...

    The evolution of Gina

I find the Maria/Gina thing interesting, because in the 80s when I first started watching the show, Maria was already an adult, so Gina was the only one that I really saw 'evolve.' I remember that Gina used to have a Day Care Center, in fact, they show a glimpse of that in 'Elmo Saves Christmas.'

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 40

Well, Dave seemed to be pretty active this year. I mean Baby Bear got quite a bit of airtime and we've even got Cookie Monster in a few street scenes, so it's possible that he'll still be around. After all, how many Muppet Show characters does he perform? I know he's taken over as Scooter and...

    The evolution of Gina

That's a good question. I remember David was looking for help at Hooper's at the time and he hired Gina. I also remember her being one of the students in Gordon's class, but that's all I can tell you. I'm not exactly sure when her debut ep was.

    Season 40 Hidden Gems

Hmmm. That would 'splain why I didn't recognize him. I recall seeing Brian on 'the Muppet Show' episode intros. I don't think I've seen John. I know he's taken over Sweetums after Richard Hunt's death, but I'm not sure I've actually seen him anywhere outside of the costume. Makes one wonder...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 40

I was wondering the exact same thing. I didn't see any sign of RF. (Not to be confused with Don Knotts' charter Ralph Furley. Lol.) I wonder what was up with that. Hmmmm. I must have missed where they changed the lyrics. I did notice that they had a new singer there. His voice I...
