Yeah, because 2008 and 2009 were pretty bad for celebrity deaths as well. Heath Ledger, Bo Diddley, George Carlin, Isaac Hayes, Bernie Mac, Paul Newman, Eartha Kitt, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson (both on the same day, no less), Bea Arthur, and Dom DeLuise, just to name a few.
One other thing that I find curious about this movie - it's just now occured to me: what was up with that new "hair do" Sam was sporting for this movie and only this movie? Where he had like a feather comb-over or something.
At the risk of being the "always assumes the worst" guy, I really didn't have much hope for her . . . I mean, how often do people bounce back from a massive heart attack? I kind of felt like she was living on borrowed time; sad that 2016 has to claim yet another life like this - this has just...
Apparently, the real reason there never was a Windows 9 is because previous versions of Windows were coded as part of what's known as the "Windows 9 Series" (i.e. Windows 95, 98), and that apparently was going to cause some problems with software and programs that may mistake the OS for either...
On a somewhat more light-hearted note, apparently Sarah Michelle Gellar mistakenly paid respect to Boy George instead of George Michael. I guess it's understandable: both are flamboyant British singers who rose to fame in the 80s and happen to have "George" in their name.
Well, the fact that that's neither a confirmation or a denial on your part doesn't really work too well into your favor.
Oh good night, why must everything turn into a debate on this forum anymore? "Prove this," "prove that, "no, you prove this," "no, you prove that." This is really becoming a...
Obama talking about how he could have beaten Drumph and "mobilized" America if he had a third term? Wow, Mr. President, I thought you had a little more dignity and class than that.
No mention of Stan Lee Vs. Jim Henson (both of whom got taken down by Walt Disney)? :P
In all seriousness, yes, I too get a kick out of this channel - I love how they took a swipe at the election with Donald Trump Vs. Hillary Clinton, and then bringing in Abe Lincoln.
Another one I enjoy...
Unfortunately, kids are more likely to respond to younger people than they are older people, but keep in mind too, once upon a time, the older castmembers were the younger people for previous generations.
No, but at the same time, they still found ways to incorporate trends into the show. When disco was big in the 70s, we ended up with such memorable moments as "Me Lost Me Cookie at the Disco," "Disco D," and they even put out that Sesame Street Fever album. When "New Wave" music was big in the...
Well, unfortunately, that's not the case anymore. SW is now run by business-minded people who are taking a more corporate approach with SST and its related properties and elements, and in fact, SST isn't even the only show or thing that's been affected by this: this isn't like it was back in the...
Oh yeah, I mean if they went for the uncanny approach like they did with the Ernest P. Worrell doll, that'd be a little too freaky:
Even Jim Varney was freaked out by this thing - so much so, in fact, that when somebody gave him one, he kept it tied up and locked in his closet!
Right, and unfortunately, their research is turning up that parents aren't even watching the show with their kids anymore, parents are more or less letting the show babysit them in a way.
Oddly enough though, they said this is why they were going to scale back on celebrities (because...
I kind of feel the same way as well.
Again, one thing we have to keep in mind is this: the show isn't made specifically for us, it's made for its target audience of pre-schoolers; they can't do things for our benefit.
The way Season 46 got delayed because of the sudden HBO deal and everything, I'm actually quite curious as to what will be done regarding Season 50: will it come early 2020, or will they try to do like they did with Season 40 and start airing it in November 2019? I guess we won't know until it...
