Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

They all have kind of a weird, dead-eye look about them - especially Peterman. Something tells me these Vinyl Idolz people should be given a crash course in the Magic Triangle for better eye focus, lol.

What Did You Get For Christmas?

I pretty much already shared what I got in what's usually regarded as our annual de facto Christmas thread.

None Like it Hot: The "I Hate the Heat" Club

I also forgot to mention I bought a brand new Christmas sweater this year and I didn't even get to wear it!

    Very Merry Muppet Christmas Revisited

That's actually another little detail I dislike about the movie. Yes, Kermit is prone to fly off the handle when the zaniness that surrounds him causes him to crack, but I felt like his tantrum in the movie was a tad over the top, even for him.

    RIP George Michael

*Resists urge to make an obvious reference to handicap bathroom stalls* That's certainly another unexpected one for 2016.

Now what's going on with YouTube?

YouTube redesigned the homepage again, though it's not a dramatic redesign like they've been in the past, but here's the thing: they have an option where you can switch back to "Classic YouTube," but that's really misleading; they should really call it "Switch back to previous version of...

    Very Merry Muppet Christmas Revisited

I think the problem with VMX moreso is that they put too much emphasis on the pop culture references in an attempt to make the Muppets seem like they're "with the times," so to speak - previous Muppet movies weren't as reliant on them, nor were they hammered in; previous Muppet movies placed...

Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

Apparently Festivus Miracles are real, look what I got this year: I didn't even know these things existed, so these were quite a surprise. Interestingly enough though, Kramer is the only regular of the main four they made for the set (apparently, Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, and Julia...

None Like it Hot: The "I Hate the Heat" Club

And guess what happened? Go ahead, guess! In all actuality, December was great this year! For a change, we've even been below average for much of the month, which is a rare occurence for us any time of year, but I mean to say, that all and all, December was perfectly seasonable this year...

    Very Merry Muppet Christmas Revisited

The thing that bothered me the most about VMX was they brought in Simpsons writers who tried to give the movie Simpsons humor, which just doesn't blend well with Muppet humor. As we've discussed many times before, at length, on MC, the level of adult humor within the world of the Muppets has...

Sesame Street Season 48 begins shooting, HBO premiere set for November 2017

Once again, I have to say that living in NY certainly has its perks. I remember I had a couple of local job offers . . . ten years ago . . . and neither came to fruition. One of whom was from Ed May, who's worked on SST before, but at the time he and his wife managed a troupe based out in Nashville.

Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

According to Google's Santa Tracker, the jolly ol' elf was just in my town a couple of minutes ago. This is about the same time he came to town according to the tracker last year (year before that, he was here about half an hour earlier than that).

    Where are the older humans?

Now there, remarkable, is something that we can actually agree on. While it's been confirmed many times by many sources (including Sonia herself), her departure from SST was of her own volition and willpower . . . but the fact that they immediately brought in a much younger Latina castmember in...

    Joey Mazzarino leaving Sesame Street

    Coming from an expert.

    Joey Mazzarino leaving Sesame Street

So by your logic, unappreciation from fans was a contributing factor to Will Lee's death. Just like politics.

    Muppet Film and TV References

Yeah, and it's not like they haven't had to rebuild characters before, I mean heck, there are some Muppets that have to be replaced every 5-6 years, and some that have to be replaced every 10-12 years. Unless, perhaps, maybe, Johnny's being phased out and retired like some characters are over...
