I'm trying to look for a song (sounding like something written by Joe Raposo) that had several kids playing in a park and running around and through trees and playground equipment. It was possibly from the late '80s or early '90s. I can't seem to find it anywhere on YT or Sesamestreet.org, so...
A 2-disc DVD special is planned called Sesame Street: 40 Years of Sunny Days. It will be released in November.

Maybe they weren't provided with clean copies of the original songs, or they probably thought the originals didn't sound good enough, so they just composed new music.
Here's Telefonrock (Telephone Rock in German).

The main problem with dubbing the pinball sketches stems from the fact that most in most languages, the numbers 1 to 12 have way too many syllables, so the dubbers have to squeeze them in so they would...
Episode 1 of Sesamstrasse, which is just a dubbed version of SS, as it was in its early years.
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
I really like the German version of the "city alphabet" sketch (seen in part 3), though I wish the music wasn't so quiet so I could hear it better. :(
I also forgot about Owe Gustafson's "Swedish Number Series".

Well, I haven't seen "Time to Play", so I can't really comment on that. Plus, I'm having a bit of trouble finding them on the SS website, since it's lagging like crazy. :grouchy:
I will agree with Drtooth that Monster Clubhouse is the worst thing EVER to happen on Sesame Street! I mean, as bad as Elmo's World is, at least it has some educational value!
I enjoy the new theme, too, though it will obviously never stand up to the original. It definitely grew on me.
I also tolerate the calypso arrangement, since I grew up watching SS in the '90s.
It does, surprisingly enough!
And another thing: They show Aristotle, the blind monster, in the "characters" section (even though there are no clips with him in them), but not Ruby? What's going on here?
This question might be considered a little inappropriate and weird :o, but I'll try to keep it as tasteful as possible.
How do monsters reproduce if they have no visible genitalia? Do they just sort of "do it" like birds?
