Hypothetical: The Muppets Are For Sale

Yeah, the characters are recognizable, but the people performing them aren't, which is what my point was. This is why Twentieth Century Fox brought in bigger-named celebrities to voice the Chipmunks in those movies because, so they'd market better.

    Yeah, them frogs. . . .

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

Look, what it all boils down to is this: some of you are right, and some of you are wrong. Now, which of you is right? You are. And which of you is wrong? You are. So there. End of story.

Hypothetical: The Muppets Are For Sale

They're as much a foundation of my life as the Muppets.

Hypothetical: The Muppets Are For Sale

I'm not so sure about that either. Going back to the Chipmunks franchise, those live action/CGI movies have been produced by Twentieth Century Fox, and have given Bagdasarian Productions very, very little creative input, hence why the characters sound and act very differently from the rest of...

They curiously seem to be bringing back a few older Muppets as minor, recurring characters in the seasons to come: Herry, Biff and Sully, and didn't I see Simon Soundman in a behind-the-scenes photo?

FOX Network or Twentieth Century Fox?

Hypothetical: The Muppets Are For Sale

Yeah, but Martha Stewart took over Hallmark Channel several years back and pretty much turned it into a frou-frou channel.

How often do they have puppeteering workshops? Because I've only heard about the one they had in 2013 or 2014 or whenever it was that many of us submitted video demos for, but apparently they've had more since then based on discussions around here.

Hypothetical: The Muppets Are For Sale

Universal would be a terrible choice. Back in the mid 90s, Bagdasarian Productions sold the Alvin and The Chipmunks franchise to Universal on the grounds the Universal promised to make the Chipmunks bigger in the 90s and 2000s than they were in the 80s and 90s - this was to include TV shows and...

Video: Sesame Street cast panel at the Sillicon Valley Comic Con

Now I'm conflicted. From what I understand, the SST panel specifically will be on Saturday the 7th, but the thing is if I purchase a certain VIP ticket for like $75, that would ensure me a seat at any Q&A panel, plus a professional photo-opp with any specific guest or group of guests . . . but...

The... -wait fer it-... "What made you laugh today?" Thread

I'm pretty sure it's from Gonzo's "Muppet Weird Stuff" VHS.

Well, it's kind of the same with Telly, even though he's had a more solid presence in recent years than Herry: the problem with Telly is younger kids can't appreciate him as the homage to Woody Allen and George Costanza that he is, because kids don't know who Woody Allen or George Costanza are...

The thing I remember the most about Herry are inserts, like he and John-John, or his recurring Monsters in Daycare from Seasons 30-32 and such . . . other than that, I just kind of remember him just "being there," and not much else.

The "I Saw Something REALLY Weird Today" Thread

Some idiot actually assumed I'm a Trump supporter because I'm white and like classic TV shows. Okay, I can see making that assumption based on being white, but how does being a fan of classic TV make somebody a Trump supporter? I don't get it.

Yeah, mine is 64-bit. I've heard of Virtual PC: I think a multi-part Let's Play of Sierra's 3D Ultra Mini-golf was accomplished that way. Slightly off-topic, but there apparently was a Deluxe version of 3D Ultra Mini-golf with better music, and an additional new nine holes that look...

The new What Made You Smile Today thread

I wish I could go back in time about ten years and tell my younger and more immature self that one day a decade from now, you'll actually be Facebook and Twitter friends with Kathy Greenwood - but I think my younger and more immature self from ten years ago would probably die of a heart attack...

Herry hasn't been a main character since the 90s, and even so, I found his inclusion of sitting on the stoop in "The Street We Live On" peculiar, because he was already pretty much phased out by that point.

I have a similar problem. Even though I still have the installation CD for a couple of things I've been using since the days of Windows 95 and 98, my old computer is completely dead (BSOD), and neither of the CDs are compatible with my current Windows 7 computer. I hear 7 has an "XP...
