Female dental assistant fired for being "too hot"

That's another good reason. His wife probably felt insanely jealous because she feels that she's no longer a bombshell.

Female dental assistant fired for being "too hot"

http://thestir.cafemom.com/in_the_news/148633/dental_assistant_fired_for_being?next=11 Yep, no need for guys to be responsible here. It's all the sexy lady's fault for not being able to keep it in your pants, which is the same type of logic plaguing a lot of Middle Eastern countries that...

    More education?

I hate to bump another ancient thread, but I thought this was important to share. It seems like the deck is stacked against ethnic minorities when it comes to college in America, no matter how brilliant they may be. Apparently, it all has to do with something called "social capital", whatever...

    When you need to rant...

As long as they don't go overboard and put tons of cameras everywhere, then that's fine.

    When you need to rant...

I'm sorry, but the last thing I want is for schools across America to be turned into fortresses or prisons, or even more like them. As tragic as that event was, they're rarer than we think, but thanks to our 24 hour news culture, we know them all too well. What we need to do is not ignore...

How's the weather where you are?

Lots of rain today, with plenty of cold temperatures.

    Questions about anything

The funny thing is, "fanny" is also British slang for a woman's you-know-what, so wearing them in front kinda makes sense. They're called "bum bags" over there for obvious reasons, too. :D

Sesame Street to tackle divorce, for real this time

This seems promising, not only for having Abby's parents already divorced, but for giving her more of an opportunity to emote and be treated as a character like how Elmo should be.

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

I just came across this via Wikipedia: http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/yourlife/health/2011-03-08-rango08_ST_N.htm The anti-smoking advocates don't think that Rango deserves a PG due to all the depictions of smoking, still believing that PG = kids' stuff.

Apple planning to manufacture some of its products in the USA

http://rockcenter.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/12/06/15708290-apple-ceo-tim-cook-announces-plans-to-manufacture-mac-computers-in-usa?lite After all the bad publicity Apple got from all those suicides at the Chinese factory that makes them, this is a very good thing for us.

Roger Rabbit 2 script completed, 3D being used

Here's the test animation, for those who are curious. Pretty darn impressive how close he looks to the hand-drawn style, especially considering this is from 1998. I really hope they stick with this style for the final movie.

    Should Sesame Street continue?

Unfortunately for the old-school fans, it's way too much of an institution to cancel. Like other long-runners such as SNL and Power Rangers/Super Sentai, it will always have a continuously changing cast and will continue to find new audiences regardless.

Disney buying Lucasfilm, Star Wars Episode VII coming in 2015

Apparently, one of the reasons why Lucas sold his company was due to capital gains taxes or something. http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/30/is-this-the-real-reason-why-george-lucas-sold-star-wars-now

Arthur - Where is the Show Going?

You mean ActiMates, right? They're was something that actually came before that called TV Teddy, which is pretty much the spiritual successor to Teddy Ruxpin. Is it just me, or is that Kath Soucie (Phil and Lil from Rugrats) voicing him? I'm glad it wound up on PBS in the end. Imagine...

    The Gravity Falls Thread

I see that this show has gotten higher ratings than Disney's tweencoms, even in its own target demographic! Could there be some hope that kids 6-11 are starting to watch cartoons more often?

TV Alert: Sesame Street at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

It was a pretty nice parade, despite the heavy emphasis on flavor-of-the-month pop stars. The song sung by the SS cast definitely takes on a whole new meaning since Kevin Clash's departure, too.
