I'd be more thrilled about vinylmations if they were individual sculps like the simpsons/futurama/family guy/street fight mini figures. But it's amazing they exist...I mean freaking Waldo! Who woulda thought?
But yeah, I just have to hold out hope Disney is waiting til right before the movie...
Whoah, he looks just like in the film...almost like a Walter poser. These suckers are big tho, I hope they release 6-8" versions of all these guys. Love the Beaker, Pepe and Rizzo though. Gonzo...well he looks like he's on something:)
As much as I stopped watching WWF in 2002, I think it's a pretty gutsy outside the box idea for more exposure outside the usual Disney demographic. So it's cool Diz is trying new things. I'm looking forward to seeing the Muppet clips. I guess the Muppets really are treated like actual people, heh.
Wow first time we've actually seen a full scene from the movie. Such a trip seeing this. And just all that old school muppet merch and ephemera.
Someone who saw the film mentioned Walter isnt seen going online, running a fansite or referencing any of that stuff...which seems like a whoopsie on...
People still watch this garbage? I was a HUGE 'wrasslin' fan 1986-2002, what one would call a "smark". Was big into WWF, WCW, ECW, independent. Could tell you virtually everything about the industry, moves, wrestlers.
Now most the 80's and 90's superstars are dead or dying. "WWE" pretty much...
To me it's all, well a certain expletive. Im sorry, but it's total bullocks that we really don't have any muppet merch for the movie in stores. Weve been waiting a lifetime for this movie, but the one time Disney decides to hold back the merchandising blitz? "oh we're in a cautious buyer's...
BRILLIANT!
Just came up with one...
"We are the 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-99 percent!...muaahhahah!" *cues lightning"
But yeah, if these people spent their time volunteering in a soup kitchen or helping the elderly their own personal time would be more worthwhile. I love helping people, neighbors...
Wait, someone literally hacked the official Sesame workshop youtube channel and posted x-rated content? Im all for bansky like guerrilla stunts and oddball stuff, but thats just beyond not cool. Even if it was just g rated videos i take offense. Sesame Workshop doesnt have to upload all those...
Even as a veteran of protests and a fellow liberal, I'm starting to become a bit annoyed by all this "Occupy" stuff. I then discovered there was a lot of people doing "Occupy Sesame Street" spoofs as a parody of "Occupy Wall Street".
haha, thats the problem. The Muppets have been so far outside of the pop-tainment societal sphere of awareness, with Sesame Street being the only Henson creation with an aggressive presence...that aside from college kids, some parents and a few smart kids the whole muppets thing may be lost on...
Um Dr Tooth, there was never a chance Disney would ever(save marvel or ex saban stuff) gonna have happy meal toys again. This thread was just a "what if" idea really.
DWA and Fox animation have a lock on McD toys.
link?
Still not a single Muppet item near me...there was actually people asking for it.
I'm guessing even when they do get some in, it won't be much...might not even be featured prominently.
Is Disney in some ways ashamed or trepedatious about the Muppet brand?
Why arent the Muppets, save for the...
It's funny, for years people just rolled their eyes at me when I talked about "they", "the powers that be", the "ruling elite". Now even my conservative friends who used to be pro war/pro Bush are now all gaga for Ron Paul, and my liberal friends have woken up to the tricks of Obama and the...
Aw cool, yeah that seems to be where a lot of people meet someone. Either that or through friends. When I was in college 1996-2002 I was so shy. I think if I was to go back to school I'd probably have a lot better luck meeting people on a similar wavelength...plus I look and dress younger than I...
Yeah I couldnt agree more. Sadly it still feels like, compared to Disney/Cartoon Network shows/Looney Tunes, the Muppets are still underground. I mean shoot, this right here is pretty much one of the only main hubs of Muppet fandom online.
I think deep down everyone has a 'favorite...
That sounds awesome! Be sure to post about that when you get details(or even pix!)
My local new Disney store didn't have a single Muppet thing today, but perhaps they are waiting til right around the movie. IF ONLY Disney didn't excommunicate Mcdonalds. All those abortions of awful DWA and Fox...
Other than reluctant boyfriends or dads being dragged in, I wonder if any guy has willingly gone to one of the twilight movies? I can't even begin to see the appeal of those movies.
Once again, they've out meta'd themselves. Also I think they (Disney) realizes they dun goofed on the exclusion of Pepe, so seems they've been trying to over compensate lately
The Muppets were never released by the Disney machine. The Disney machine is known for merchandise onslaughts for their fall tentpoles in the last decade.
Lack of Muppet film merch=lame and unacceptable to me..but sadly, just as I predicted.
