That episode was definitely an interesting experiment. Taking a kids' fanfic story idea that he recorded and making an actual episode from it, all done in a childish art style? I think the showrunners should be applauded for that heartwarming gesture alone. :)
That two-parter really showed how Aunt Grandma is willing to do some dirty things to get back at UG, what with those cyborg clones and all. I even love how the Aunt Grandma Industries logo looks just like CN's, making that passive-aggressive jab at the network all the more appropriate...
The Jungle Book stays on top once more, while The Huntsman didn't open as high as its predecessor, though Barbershop made about the same as its predecessors.

In other news, it's been over 6 years since that neutered Toxic...
It was awesome seeing Soundwave again, and it's great to know that Laserbeak isn't considered obsolete either. Also really liked seeing the humans being useful and having to fight them off as Bee was stuck in the Shadow Dimension.
I enjoy watching Ben Minnotte of the Oddity Archive. I really like how he focuses on the stranger aspects of nostalgia such as test patterns and 15th-party VHS distributors. Can't wait to see what he has in store for the 100th episode! :)
"The Signal" can be seen as "The Money 2.0", only instead of the animation degrading from losing budget, it's a crappy digital TV signal that manages to create some horrible misunderstandings between Gumball and Darwin every time the episode skips.
Didn't Ms. Keane teach her students advanced stuff from time to time in the original series, though mainly as a joke? Plus, let's not forget about the time the girls simultaneously corrected and clobbered Mojo over his bedtime story about Napoleon when he babysat them. Wouldn't seem that...
"Let's Get Serious" is the actual name of the episode you're talking about. "Serious Business" is the one where Robin learns about the "magic" of the bathroom after his friends show him that it's much more fun to use it for a very long time for anything other than its intended purpose, which...
I agree. This was definitely one of the better episodes this season because of how meta it was.
And you'd think with it even being animated in Flash on Canadian tax credit, it would be immune to this sort of budget-saving measure. Apparently not. :P
Okay, "The Wrinklegruff Gals" was clearly meant to air first (if not one of the first), as it shows that the girls are forced to go to a new school thanks to Bubbles accidentally mutating the class hamster and destroying Pokey Oaks, and it at least explains how Ms. Keane got a job there.
Don't forget bombastic TV pitchman Billy Mays, which was especially shocking as many people were beginning to like him thanks to shows like Pitchmen and his ability to make fun of himself. He was even planning on doing a series of Taco Bell commercials in the style of his infomercials, but alas...
Or how 'bout "Pee Pee G's" where the girls get distraught over a bed-wetting accident, and the majority of the episode is them worrying over it and accusing the others of doing it. And when they sought advice from others, the Mayor even revealed to Bubbles that he is an AB/DL (Google it. On...
Both you guys bring up interesting points. There is an awful lot of slice-of-life stuff here over action, let's not deny that. But it still feels like the writers are struggling with what kind of tone they're going for, and hopefully we'll see a more solid format along the way.
The 2nd season...
I think this show is really coming into its own. I like how Kenny struggles with his gay identity, seemingly going between camp gay and straight gay in terms of archetypes. I also liked last night's episode about the gay coffee house (that was just your ordinary coffee house that just so happens...
I liked seeing some extra backstory from Lady Rainicorn and her homeworld. And because of this, this is the first time her dialogue is subtitled, along with her species-ist ex-boyfriend.
Named Lee!
And it looks like the Creature Shop provided some animal puppets for Mowgli to react to, though they unfortunately don't appear in the final film.

"Tiara Trouble" was a great episode if only for the commentary on beauty pageants (especially for children) and the return of several villains. And yes, Him made his debut here, though I expected him to do a little more after his tiara possessed Princess Morbucks, rather than just sit by and...
