Questions about the ending to Golden Book Video of "Wanted: The Great Cookie Thief"

Sorry about the long reply... 1. He was running AWAY from the town, heading for another one. 2. The sun was supposed to be setting as it was apparently afternoon at the start of the story.

"Wanted: the Great Cookie Thief" now an iOS app!

Felt like sharing this here: This actually reminds me a lot of the 1985 Golden Book Video adaptation of the same book, complete with identical partial animation effects (except they actually have their lips move now, too) and even the same "Nobody knows the problem we have" song! I also...

What sketches scared you as a kid?

Yes, the Magic Mirror was indeed Jerry Nelson. I do kinda remember the mirror weirding me out a bit with his live-action human face. The "I Beam" never had a menacing voice in it, but it's likely it was added at one time.

What sketches scared you as a kid?

Ernie's great counting thing is slowly driving Bert crazy. At the end, Bert just finally snaps, he yells and runs to the table and bangs his head on it several times, then runs toward the camera screaming, then we can hear him run out and slam the door! I could see a reason why they'd cut that...

    A visual idea on "Bert's R Machine..."

One of my favorite things on the Muppet Alphabet Album when I was a kid was the classic "Bert's R Machine" segment. Since it was never made into a sketch on the show, I made up what it would probably have looked like... (The scene opens in Ernie and Bert’s apartment living room. Bert has some...

What sketches scared you as a kid?

Heh, I always thought that would often be cut because they were worried kids would imitate Bert there, because of how he banged his head on the table several times (ala Don Music!) before running into the camera and out the apartment!

What sketches scared you as a kid?

(watches the sketch) Yow, that animation is pretty freaky! And that mutant rabbit wasn't even running after them, he was just WALKING! The fast rock/drum music is actually pretty cool, though! Except when it went silent when the mutant rabbit went by the trees.

Why did the Newsflash logo have to change?

What News Flash segment was it? It could have been an edit on SesameWorkshop's part. Also, with the thread bump, I did a montage of the News Flash logo through the years:

    The "Around the Corner" episodes

You're right! I DO seem to recall it not having the closing credits for some weird reason, and I was like "Wait a minute, this is a Friday episode! Where's the credit crawl!" I actually seem to recall the Irvie's Blankie rerun was a Friday episode (I think I remember seeing the credits at the...

Sesame Street Classic Episodes Vol. 2 now available for download on iTunes

*does a spit take* Whoa, Episode 3174 has the Red Hot Riding Hood News Flash segment with the map and taxi? That's NEVER been available on the Internet before!!! And it's probably only a matter of time now until that segment shows up on YouTube. And speaking of Kermit's special reports, I...

Kermit and Miss Piggy to present award at Oscars

Huh, I've been looking online everywhere, and they're really secretive about who presents what Oscar. I know Kermit and Piggy should be doing one of the song ones, but I wonder who's doing the animation ones? I hope it won't be another snooze-fest like last year!

Kermit and Miss Piggy to present award at Oscars

I wonder what award Kermit and Miss Piggy will present? The Academy's being pretty secretive about it! I do kinda hope they do the animated awards. Lately, presenting the awards for Best Animated Film and Short have become incredibly boring. Here's a video from 1993 or 1994 with Bugs and Daffy...

    The "Around the Corner" episodes

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, as these are for mid-to-late 1990s episodes, but I actually remember some Sesame Street episodes from when my brother was younger and still watching the show at that time. Most of them are from Season 28 (1996-1997), or maybe one is from Season...

    Wuv-Luvs!

Does anyone on this thread remember a genuinely bizarre toy called the "Wuv Luv?" Here is a commercial for them, from 1999-2000: Yes, long story short, it was a toy that ACTUALLY GAVE BIRTH (in an even more graphic manner than the Fuzz Luvs.) A little creepy, and a little gross at the same...

Caroll Spinney's Big Bird or Matt Vogel's?

On a few occasions, Matt Vogel would perform in the suit, while Caroll Spinney would dub in the voice. But I still prefer Caroll Spinney as Big Bird through and through. He can even rollerskate and ride a unicycle while playing Big Bird. Now THAT'S impressive!

Was "Dental Hyjinks" the Muppet Babies series pilot?

I had recently watched the Muppet Babies episode "Dental Hyjinks" again and I kinda have to agree with some of the YouTube users' comments. This was most likely the series pilot, and once the show was greenlit, "Noisy Neighbors" was produced as the first episode to air. This would make sense...

Sesame Street at the Macy's Parade - 2011

Yep, I also noticed Bugs Bunny got a new costume. It looks different from when I saw Bugs at Six Flags New England last year: I also loved seeing Scooby-Doo on the float. He looks the same as when I also saw him at Six Flags, even though Scrappy-Doo was there too:

Your Thoughts: "The Muppets" Theatrical Film

I just saw it with my brother and a couple of friends. It was AWESOME! I loved all the references to the classic Muppet movies. It was basically a good old-fashioned musical Muppet film. I especially loved Walter's nonstop screaming bit, the 80s robot's loud modem, Gonzo's self-destructing...

Sesame Street at the Macy's Parade - 2011

Well, Abby Cadabby was right next to Murray Monster in that window. I think Murray and Abby are both approaching the same levels of popularity now.
