Oh, I agree to some extent that the performers may have been a little too timid in some cases, but Eric's Fozzie is so ON! I don't think his Piggy has been given much opportunity to be completely herself yet (OZ she was witches, NBC Christmas she was in an alternate reality and there are the...
I think a lot of the trouble is that the Muppet characters in specials and interviews have been a bit more interested in reminding viewers of the brand than reinstating their entire personalities and different character dynamics. I hope this project affords them the opportunity.
See, H&M stores have cute briefs for guys with fun graphics, patterns and pop icons like Superman and Hulk on them. I think it's time to make Muppet shorts for me! Heck I'd even wear the girl ones they'd be at all comfortable, but I doubt that.
Precisely. Voice is third. It is important, but only after character craft.
:o Eric's Fozzie is about as spot-on as can be. Actually, if anything he's too funny, but I don't mind that one bit.
 Eric's Piggy is very good. She sometimes garbles/mumbles her lines, sometimes she gets a...
:excited: Cyndi Lauper's New Studio Album - Bring Ya To The Brink - Now Available! :flirt:
Many Muppet Central members are quite aware of my affection for the music of Cyndi Lauper. Today she released her first full-fledged wide release studio album of original music in a decade to meet...
Voices, Frank and You Tube Too!
:insatiable: I know this is a clip from A&E about Sesame Street, but about 3 minutes in the great Frank Oz talks about how the voice isn't his priority when puppeteering the characters. I have been looking for this sort of clip a long time - ever since I stated...
:o Since this post was listed by Phillip I believe that Corgi/MR is planning to release this Fozzie Bear product. One thing I have learned working with the toy industry is that plans can change quickly - prototype picture or not. With all the work put into Fozzie at this point the company would...
Why is it that so many people don't get that statement? However, the pizza guy remark was obviously mentioned as a show of support and enthusiasm. Steve is the frog and I'm sure he will be until he choses to pass the torch very many years from now. :)

The resolution is a little weak, but I have always loved this striking image. Feel free to take it! :concern:
:o I never could keep a good journal. I either got so detailed it consumed too much time and prevented me from experiencing things to write about or I spent too much time experiencing things to write about them in my journal. That and my initial "outing" happened at 17 years old when my private...
City Critters. They're blind boxed and I hope to get the last two (out of 8) this week. There's been some speculation on how much they're designed from Jim Henson's doodles, but they do resemble those I've seen in his book. I'm not a big fan of the MindStyle company's methods of blind boxing or...
Hey, my first name hasn't been a secret = Jamie (or James). Also Muppet Central Staff names and pictures have been posted for a while. Wow, my picture is quite old and strange looking. :o
Still, you start a thread about first names without stating your own. Kinda funky. I draw the line at...
Super Scooter
;) I agree with that. I suppose that is why this sequel takes place so far in the future, however I think it would have been best for the writers to look elsewhere for inpiration. The original Dark Crystal movie and story, as you have said, is perfect and requires no follow-up...
The Gartham Wars has a beautiful cover and, from what I've read of it so far, a passable story, but the art on the gelflings is just not very good. It's a JapAnime version of what a person would look like in a gelfling costume. They have distinctly people noses and proportions. The beautiful...
:scary: I still feel that with Tarkovsky there would be more animation than puppetry. That's the only tidbit that's bothered me. That and the mangas coming out about Henson fantasty properties are largely garbage compared to their original source material. But they all do have beautiful shiny...
Cooking Explosion! Bork! Bork! Bork!
:hungry: Okay, I got the "Where did the Swedish Chef get his scar?" question from the quiz and chose that he had no scar. Maybe this was somehow mentioned somewhere in a program, but this is the first I've heard of it. 9 soft-ball questions and then that odd...
:insatiable: People get the Muppetverse mixed up too with Sesame and Muppet Show all mixed together. Recently a reporter kind of assumed Fozzie was on Sesame Street. I can understand some thinking SS is for kids (it is designed as an educational tool) but there's much for all ages to enjoy. The...
 Celebrating Frank Oz Menu :o
In this menu the site's red arches rade in as usual. A banner that reads "Celebrating Frank Oz" appears above the usual Muppet Central logo. Twinking glitter sparkles briefly while Frank's characters pop up into the arches along with Frank Oz himself to...
:coy: I look at it as geek chic.
However, I'll repeat this sentiment again. A grown man knowing wearing the number and knowing all the little tidbits of another grown man sports figure cannot honestly be tossing stones from his glass house! ;)
:wisdom: Abby was clearly created in response to Dora's merchandizing appeal (Rosita handles the Spanish lessons). I used to think Dora was a good idea, but man is that show irritating for adults after several minutes! Sesame Street has always found a balance lacking in other forms of...
