Your Thoughts: Dark Crystal and Labyrinth Anniversary DVD's

:scary: To answer your question about the borders…they never actually appeared in the theatrical film. On the VHS copy of the opening credits instead of cropping the sides of the picture or placing the widescreen black bars (that used to confuse people) they painted in the beautiful golden...

    Muppet Kubrick Collection

Wow! Congradulations on finding them! I thought Piggy was one of the best. They captured her better than Palisades was able to do (in their different style, of course). She's the only character in the set they didn't base off a Palisades design. The bodies tend to be either flat-boxy or pudgy...

    Happy Birthday to Butchcat!

:excited: Happy Birthday! :coy: Another year of bringing joy to entertainment, puppets and the forum! Thanks for all you do. Deep admiration and appreciation! :busy:

The second DTV Garfield Movie is revealed

I like the idea of a new show. The writing for the first special wasn't great, but I am hoping that will improve with time. I did dig the look of the main characters and the toon shading for the GC to retain some classic line art quality to it. http://wijitworld.com/stock_images/gf.jpg...

    Hancock movie: thoughts?

That right. Going in with that mindset is spot-on. I felt the same way about Jumper too. Yeah, there are huge plot holes in that film that they literally throw a bus into! Still, it's an interesting premise, good effects and good fun. I think some critics need to go back and watch some cherished...

The wait for Spring 2009 starts here

I'm not certain what all the Master Replicas' license covers, but we know it includes Muppet posers and figurines. I believe Palisades lost their license renewal (even before folding) because Disney was still trying to figure out what to do with the Muppets and they hadn't inked the initial...

    Hancock movie: thoughts?

My partner and I saw the new Will Smith, Jason Bateman, Charlize Theron movie "Hancock" this afternoon even after being warned by critical consensus to stay away. I have to admit to listening to critics, while not reacting to them. We were both pleasantly surprised. Yes, the film is a mess of...

    Henson Channel?

From the Muppet Wiki: In 1999, the Jim Henson Company had partial interests in two cable channels, The Kermit Channel (which was broadcast in Asia) and The Odyssey Channel (which was broadcast in the USA). Hallmark also co-owned these networks. The Odyssey Channel was later renamed the...

    Wall-E: The thread

Wall-E's box office is still seen as very impressive. Most films don't open anywhere near $63M. Even compared to other Pixar or Disney animated pictures it's quite good. Wall-E wasn't a runaway-train-full-of-money success, just a crowd-pleasing-fantastic success. Also, let's not forget...

Muppets to appear in Disney Channel TV special

Well, it's listed up on Muppet Newsflash so I'd suspect so.

The wait for Spring 2009 starts here

A little bit of geeking-out :flirt: I would like to see more of the Electric Mayhem, Scooter and Rowlf included in next spring’s merchandise along side current crowd pleasers like Pepe. I have to respectfully disagree with equating Pepe to Elmo to any degree. The similarity stops at them both...

    Muppets.com relaunches with Disney XD

I'm very pleased with these new clips. The nit-picky: The latest Miss Piggy puppet in Kermit's new web blog has some proportion issues especially concerning eye placement. Bunsen's latest head shape doesn't bother me that much. His nuances change from puppet to puppet, but the...

Another Sesame Street / Muppet Skit on MAD TV on Fox

:insatiable: It's funny. I know it will offend many fans, but not me. You can tell the cast and writers are making fun of a beloved show they grew up with and injecting some social commentary. :wisdom:

Angelina Jolie In Talks to Star in New Muppet Film

Same as it always was. I don't think the classic Muppet Movie was filled with role models, just funny famous people. I believe kids should look in their own families and communities for roll models instead of Hollywood. It has never been that old conservative notion -Hollywood values are...

Ask Travis: A Master Replicas Photo Puppet Q&A Thread

My preference has always been Pepe. Rizzo has never been a particular favorite of mine, however I like the idea that a Rizzo pattern could possibly unlock a way to mix and match parts resulting in multiple rats. That's probably too complicated. Also if Rizzo comes out he'd likely look modern...

    "Cheeky" Muppet Moments

My favorite classic cheeky moment was the Muppet Show episode with Rudolf Nureyev and Miss Piggy taking a steam together. Weirdness! ;) My favorite modern cheeky moment was Scooter's alternative universe go-go boy cage dancing. Yeah, the Tin Thing nipple joke comes in a close second...

Angelina Jolie In Talks to Star in New Muppet Film

I'm certainly not trying to get down on anybody here. I just think that as a couple of generations of fans have grown up and started families they start to remember the Muppets with rosier, possibly more puritanical, glasses. It makes sense when you have kids and that's a good thing. Too many...

Angelina Jolie In Talks to Star in New Muppet Film

Um...who said Jolie was going to sex up the new Muppet film? She didn't sex up "The Good Shepherd", "Beyond Borders" or "Kung Fu Panda" so I don't think she'd do much in this Muppet film. And even so, the Muppets have had some cheeky moments with guest stars! :) Learn your Muppet history...

Muppets to appear in Disney Channel TV special

For me it is less about personal excitement and more about excitement for the Muppets. I am interested in seeing how this special handles the characters. This is a demographic that has been lacking in Muppet audiences and Disney's trying to change that.

Angelina Jolie In Talks to Star in New Muppet Film

Thanks! I agree! There was a time earlier this year when fans were crying out for a new Muppet movie. Now we've got one and many fans are unhappy with what A-list actors would be better than this A-list actor to provide the traditional cameos. I have enjoyed Jolie even before she...
