I agree with all you said (except the idea of my returning to moderation - that's probably how I killed my old computer). :o
I like my little M guy. I'm sure Phillip could use him for something down the line - if even as content filler for a graphic to be inserted later. He made me smile...
This is kind of a safer area for Muppet Central products that don't actually say Muppet on them or have an "official" character even though this is essentially Java...er...JaMa. I just threw it together bit it turned out kinda cute. :o Still a longshot, but hey. I tried!
I will let you know...
I do know for a fact that Muppet Central's staff is made up of people from all walks of life. I've always been out and open. ;) I mention my partner quite often and have even shared the handmade Valentine I made for him last year.
I will say that some of the religious threads have put me off...
A few respectful thoughts.
I am a little reluctant to complain due to my great absence from Muppet Central 2004-2006. A lot more could be done with the articles but I kind of think that’s the deal with our apparent Muppet Newsflash association. That site does such a commendable job! I do think...
I was actually agreeing with the gist of your post that I cited. Your response cited mine and commented on sentiments it did not contain. But again, it's a misunderstanding. I get where you are coming from. I'm just not certain you read me right? It’s common on forums. ;)
I agree with this especially as pertains to the Muppets. The idea got stuck out there that the Muppets were locked in a time warp and out of touch with current culture when the opposite is true. It’s just that people heard it so much they believed the negative PR. Some of their projects didn't...
Good advice indeed. All indicators are that the times, projects and opportunities are all aligning for the Muppets. It is a rare time! I mean Statler is actually running for President along with Mrs. Bitterman! :o (kidding, of course…kinda)
Kevin Clash Celebration Menu
:zany:
In this menu the site's red arches drop in as usual. A banner that reads "Celebrating Kevin Clash" appears above the usual Muppet Central logo. Twinkling glitter sparkles briefly while Kevin's characters pop up into the arches along with Kevin Clash...
I agree.
So, if this special is one-hour long, that means about 43 minutes of actual show. How many songs do you think it will have and how Christmasy do you think they will they be? How will the writing balance turn out? Will it be enjoyable to both younger new fans and us vintage fanatics...
Disney does not own the Peanuts. They might have distribution rights for some of the specials, but that is a different deal. If Disney had purchased Snoopy and the gang it would have been headline news.
That's exactly right. Jim created Fraggle Rock primarily as a children's program that would instill understanding and promote peace in the minds of the word's young people because they are the easiest to reach with this message. Of course, all of Jim's work was created for all ages to enjoy...
That happens with a lot of Oscar-worthy films. I'm a little surprised and pleased about this re-release. It will already be out on DVD by that time. However, I believe the second release will count toward final box office gross. The current estimate as of this weekend is $517,680,000 domestic...
Yeah, and some of us make a portion of our livelihood in the creative industry of action figures and collectibles. I just finished branding a fledgling company and designed their first package this morning. Their pitch is praising, "Visionary Thinkers that changed the way we view humanity."...
I agree. MCC is the most somber of Muppet projects ever. If not for the music it would have had a much different feel to it. One More Step Till Christmas, It Feels Like Christmas, Thankful Heart and even Scrooge helped balance out the sadder moments and the When Love Is Gone weepy music.
I...
"...sales of all kinds of adult-oriented play stuff...are doing well. Why is this? What does this tell us about ourselves? Are "boomers" in a delayed childhood? I would like to talk to adults who still "play with dolls" as well as experts who have given some thought as to the meaning of it all."...
Agreed. I just like what I like. If it happens to be popular that's great; if it isn't, that's fine too. My personal (somewhat mid-life) crisis happened when I stopped caring about such things I once loved. I even left Muppet Central for a couple years. I'm glad that's over.
Years ago I had...
No problem. I just like to discuss possibilities more than just limitations. As Muppet fans we have learned to deflate our expectations and with good reason. But things change.
I would be inclined to believe Caine too, but since Hoffman denied it I don't know what to think. My thought is...
Then it is your choice to join in or move on. You are not the arbiter of fun. There are other threads. The devil's advocate thing gets tiresome. :zany:
