This StarrFilter's post was horrible, inflammatory and IS one of the few examples of a violation in MC Forums policy. However, I hope it's not edited because it exposes more about that particular member than it does about Steve, Sesame Workshop, Disney or the Muppets.
Muppeting isn't easy...
Actually $300 is about the normal price. These things aren't cheap. The Gonzos and Animals didn't sell well initially so they were unloaded on secondary vendors and go for very cheap prices. However, MR's Kermit will usually fetch at least $250 and will only get more expensive with time.
I think the victories in Glee are smaller, but just as valuable. Anyone who's been in the arts in High School can attest to the fact that the department always gets hosed while the sports teams get all the acclaim and funding.
Glee has shades of Ally McBeal, but set in High School and...
Yeah, I would have preferred a more original-looking piece, but it's very well done. The Statler & Waldorf design is unique and so is 2010's Animal sculpt. I'm actually surprised they created their own patterns for those ornaments. One thing is for certain - these are quality pieces and...
Steve's performance has been discussed many times over the years here, but of course fans are going to greatly critique a guy who subbed for two performances over the actual puppeteer who has safeguarded the character for 19 years. (It's the 19 year thing.) ;)
I'm wondering how Disney plans to proceed with their Muppet push. I think they really want to make sure the characters are out there as much as possible and that (in their estimation) would require a B performer for B-level events while the more valuable A talent is working on larger-scale...
I have to agree with that. And there's a difference between a performance that will evolve with time and one that's not nearly done baking. On the performance side (whatever the character) Kermit's recent puppetry just wasn't Muppet caliber. It could have been because it was a last minute and...
:flirt: Watched Glee on the Hulu and now I'm addicted. I'm not a big fan of High School Musical because it's a little too glossy for my taste and it largely speaks to a younger age group while this one easily connects to my high school experiences. Anyone else watch this show?
Thought one of my posts was deleted. Nevermind. However, the retitling of existing threads lately makes it confusing. A light touch is always the best solution. :wisdom:
I don't think anyone's being negative about the movie. On the contrary - everyone seems very excited. We just hope that the Muppets will be performed by the crew that's been keeping the tradition alive for the past 19 years since Jim.
Is there some knowledge that should be disclosed or is this Kermit-swap support purely based on personal opinion because it appears from your posts and forum name that you have a personal stake in Kermit finding a replacement performer? Just making sure this is all above board. :attitude...
I was most worried about Sam, but he and all of it turned out so gorgeous. Your drawings in Pan remind me of the illustrated Muppet books I grew up with. Fans have a lot to look forward to. :)
I need to add that I hope Boom! overworks you on Muppet comics. ;)
The thing that concerns me is that he specifically introduced the Cheapest Muppet Movie project. I hope it isn't his personally green-lit project because incoming execs often like to shelve things that came before. I'm likely overreacting, but it does happen.
I do too! The artwork is beautiful.
Sam's eyebrow looks much better here too. (It was a little thick and almost in kind of a "furry" style on Amy's first Robin Hood cover.) That was the only thing keeping that character design from being an absolute masterpiece IMHO. :attitude:
I can't...
Disney studio chief Dick Cook to step down!
 What does this mean for the Muppets and other Disney properties? Did he not wow enough execs at D23?
This is much more jarring than when they changed Darrens on Bewitched and pretended not to notice.
If Disney is going to audition Kermit impersonators rather than have a Kermit performer like they've had the last 54 years then here's a good list of canditates I've found. :) And...
