That's what most CG films miss is the story. Most of them today use computer animation as a gimmick rather than a device. Large studios like Disney have stupidly shut down nearly all traditional 2D animation in favor of the fad and claim that their other 2D offerings like Brother Bear and Home...
I'm tired of that too. Sure, not post-Jim project was golden (psst...even Jim had some misses, rare as they were). Muppet Classic Theater had its moments, just like Muppets Tonight did too. Treasure Island and Christmas Carol are both had some great musical numbers. Sure, there are some...
I just noticed Peg Let #3 has the same paper stock too. Hmmm. Oh, and I am so glad Robin Hood is over. Make way for Pan.
Are you done with all of them yet? I know you can't disclose too much, but are there any other Muppet projects you're working on? By the way, it's been a long time since...
I think it could help. I'm sure Disney's seeing where it's most efficient to cut costs with the Muppets (as with all the Mouse House projects). They need to know that replacing key Muppets is frowned upon. If Kermit can't make it (due to schedule or buget), see if another performer can bring out...
Ultimately this goes to several questions:
Does anyone know if Kermit has been recast permanently?
NOBODY KNOWS (so far)
Do you agree that Kermit should be recast?
Personally I think Steve has been doing just fine.
Do you think that Kermit should have an alternate performer...
Just got back from the comic store. Nobody's mentioned the nicely-toothed paper! This comic book has an entirely different feel to it. It really is like a story book. :flirt:
My only complaint so far is that I want more Muppets! I have a feeling we'll see Rowlf, Animal, Pepe, Fozzie and the...
He he. The magic of sunscreen. :o
Honestly, I think the Calfornia weather has something to do with that. There's a whole culture of people like us.
Anyway, I still think the Sarah Marshall writers could do a good Muppet piece. Anyone who watched the closing number of that film should be...
I just don't think Starrfilter's post was productive. It was the repeating of unkind gossip. Basically this guy is a person that nobody here personally knows citing a secondary source we don't know with the assumption this source knows what's going on in the situation. That's terrible behavior...
...well corn syrup is evil. He he. :o
I kind of look at Muppet fans like Star Wars fans. Some grew up with the classic trilogy, some grew up with the second trilogy and some were first introduced to the characters with the Ewok cartoon. Of course the classic trilogy is the best because it's...
That's very pessimistic. And why bring God into it? I'm 35 so does that mean I have more of a right to complain than you do? I agree with many of the points to some degree, but that post as a whole - sorry, but - ick. :grouchy:
I suppose that most of us fans are worried that with watered-down performances and cutting corners that the Muppets could suffer the horrible fate of Scooby-Doo has here. Ick. I don't care how well this is written, this is not a quality project. You'd think Scooby would demand some better value...
Of course story is important and that's largely forgotten these days. That's likely why Disney's going with a classic Jim & Jerry concept for the next film so that base is already covered.
However, the Muppets are best when they improv and the new Kermit fell flat at that when given a golden...
Just seems like playing devil's advocate for the heck of it. I don't get what you're arguing here.
I think what Ryan was trying to say is - projects usually work best when seasoned professionals fill the key production roles. That would include Steve performing the main Muppet character...
I agree. I hope all the Muppet performers are getting handsomely compensated. It's nobody's business so I won't go too far down this road. Disney has decades of profits ahead of them while many of the classic Muppet performers are planning for future retirement. They deserve a healthy chunk of...
