mini rant
Critics in the past have claimed that soap operas and violence in TV have had an negative affect on the public - but I say it's reality television. ABC has become one of the greatest offenders of reality television. It's cheap, exploitative and demeaning and it has destroyed TV. It's...
While I can understand the legal reasoning, this decision is just plain stupid. Sure, Disney has improved much of the cartoon-style Muppet licensing art, but they're in dire need for new photography of the puppets and the majority of their graphic design has the skill level of a teenager's...
Look on the back of the recent Letters to Santa DVD or at the end of any recent project and the credits will usually say "Muppets Studio LLC". It wasn't always like that, but Disney has been using the plural tense for a while now. However, the recent Disney parks ads reflect a "Muppet Studios"...
While I can understand the "standard practice" employed by Disney when they receive unsolicited work, I cannot imagine why this wouldn't be a remarkable exception.
Let's face it, I love this new Disney push, but much of their graphic design concerning the Muppets has been ugly and...
Thanks. She was a very sweet little mouse. She and her kids had long happy lives. They really aren't supposed to live more than a few months in the wild, but live longer in captivity if cared for properly. She has one more kid left and she seems okay right now. We thought Crinkle would have...
The characters aren't planned as much as they evolve. Pepe really struck a chord with viewers so the writers and performers just went with that. I'm glad they did. I think he works well with Rizzo too.
Any ETA on some EFX Muppety news?
Crinkle Mouse Died Today.
Some of you know the freaky story of the mice that my partner and I kept. We couldn't handle or play with them, but we kept them clean, fed and happy. My favorite, the only boy, Speedy Mouse died a couple of weeks ago. It's actually been hard on me. He was so...
The list wasn't as much my opinion as marking actual current Muppet product trends. My personal taste reflects something quite different. My five product faves? That's easy. It would be: Kermit, Gonzo, Scooter, Fozzie and Rowlf.
The realism of it for mainstream products:
Fozzie has had much...
The five most popular Muppet characters in products (for well over a decade) are these in about this order:
Kermit, Animal, Beaker, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear.
Scooter's one of my personal faves, but he was retired from 92-99 and hasn't been given much to do since then. Maybe he'll get more work...
In my opinion, these are the most likely candidates for posers to place beside Kermit, Animal, Gonzo, Rizzo and the planned Reporter Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and Pepe.
Beaker (Not sure about Bunsen)
Rowlf
Statler & Waldorf
and possibly a wild card Dr. Teeth
I doubt Scooter could...
Wasn't WB the last hold-out on uniform DVD packaging? They used that eyesore flipbox until a year or so ago. What they've done to their own Luney Tunes collections is almost criminal. :attitude:
I know this is a page for questions to Jim, but how did you see Monty Python on Jimmy Fallon? They've been disbanded for many, many years and the remaining members have said that they will never regroup as Monty Python. Did he just play an old clip? Was it something from Spamalot?
Fantastic! I love this bit!
On a side note, does anyone have a contact number for Disney Interactive? Their web execution makes watching clips terrible on over half the computers I've used! I love Flash, I work in Flash and there's a good way and bad way to do things. They picked the most...
Actually, these images I've been seeing are coming from new licensing art. The method of graphic creation these days isn't as creative as I'd like it to be, but that's an unfortunate industry standard. Most graphic designers out there...ahem...can't draw! It's true. And what's worse is that most...
