Bear arrives on Disney+ The beloved series has been off the air for the past 15 years. Now all four seasons are finally available for a whole new generation.
I see Jim's famous quote as his outlook on life as a whole and not just the Muppet brand. Heck, sure Disney runs things differently. They way they've been running the Muppets since spring 2009 has been solid and successful. They have the marketing machine and man power to make that happen. Jim...
I still think Gonzo looked his best in Muppets Tonight. His design just seemed so effortlessly right.
Miss Piggy hasn't looked her best since Muppet Caper. She's come close here and there, but from the Manhattan fright-wig to the current puppet's duller-looking face, Piggy just hasn't been...
...but I will repeat...this is different than 2003, 2004 and 2005. It's not just about one YouTube video, one project or one product. There's a cascade of Muppety goodness set into motion like never before from Disney. I can understand if some people think it's too early to remark about a...
The Henson Hour is a very tricky item to bring to market. It will have to be gutted. With the rights that Disney now owns this is what they'd have to do:
* Lose the entire opening titles that include the Henson name, Henson Co owned characters like Emmet Otter.
* Lose the Jim Henson...
I first was told of the viral video becasuse a friend of a friend of a friend had seen it first. I'm the fan, but some joe-shmoe stumbled across it and told many people before news got to me while I was on vacation and away from my computer. This new YouTube video is not just a fan find.
It...
A Roger Rabbit, a Jessica Rabbit, a Baby Herman, a Chuck Jones signed Bugs Bunny from a vitamin commercial, a Tito from Oliver & Company, a Dodger from Oliver & Company along with 2 Bambi Lithographs signed by Frank & Ollie, and a classic Donald Duck comic strip from 1965.
I really want this guy. I really want them all to be honest. I work part time managing a collectibles shop in downtown San Francisco to fill in the freelance gaps and let me tell ya', times are tough for shops and customers! I'll see about ordering through the shop if we're able. One Rizzo for...
Thanks for that bit of cold comfort. :shifty:
I understand the collectibles market (especially animation cels) very well. With next year's Muppet blitz it might be wise to skip the posers and go for multiple affordable items that could come next year. There will be a heavier saturation of...
It really feels like they are gearing up to make some new *and solid* Muppety goodness. I also like how Disney responded to fans wanting to see more of the cast members aside from just Kermit & Piggy. Somebody's been listening...good thing we didn't put out the mouse traps. ;)
There's always going to be that contrarian out there that hates much-liked things. Don't worry about it. Her opinion can't *always* be right. ;) This obviously is one of the rare exceptions.
Covers are a tricky thing. Personally, I think this was done well with one exception. Animal's portion...
That's great. I was worried that there was some sort of disconnect.
It does seem that Disney is focusing on Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Pepe, Animal and Rizzo. However, the new video shows that Kermit and Piggy can easily be the ending punctuation to an epic mob of fan faves.
This is what I'm making of things. The Muppet puppets were being built for the Halloween production that got pushed back one year so they're using all of the puppets they can in that epic video. But that lends the idea that Johnny and Sal were to be in the Halloween special. Maybe Brian will...
I think it has to do with Brian Henson's unavailability for Sal. I know someone else could do the voice, but the performance of Sal is so distinctly Brian. I used to wonder years back if he'd make his mark with the Muppets as a performer. He then took a very basic anything-monkey and created a...
My Thoughts on the Pre-Order Production
The idea of having Muppet posers is incredible. Securing the idea with a company like Disney isn't an easy task in the first place. Beyond that, it's virtually impossible to factory produce a delicately detailed, quality handcrafted item. The development...
I've got to say that most of the characters (Janice, Rizzo and even Fozzie) are looking great! Some key characters are not as well designed (Animal, Gonzo and Miss Piggy). Other nitpicks are that Pepe's eye focus is becoming uncomfortably crossed for some reason and I want Scooter's shiny jacket...
