Re: Koozebane playset
Hey Ken,
I had an idea today while at work (in Toy dept. at Meijer, though I'm only in Toys one day a week and Sports/Auto the rest). I love the fact you're doing a Koozebane playset and am thrilled that it will (at least as of this moment) include the male and female...
Re: Gonzo's cannons
Ken, a question on Gonzo's cannons: you said they would be colored differently between the regular and the repaint- how is that going to look? Is one going to be silver and the other brightly colored and patterned (like a circus cannon) or are they both going to be painted...
Re: Gene Kelly episode
The 'end of the world' running gag was written with that in mind (that is, it was written as a finale). Also, we see the announcer and Pigs in Space reaches the end of the universe, where they will be given the meaning and purpose of life. Here's how it ends-
Bo...
Beethoven's Bust- another great fan Easter egg. Gotta hand it to you Ken.
Too bad about tux Fozzie being nixed (particularly since he was slated to come with Chuckie). Maybe it'll come up again if/when the series makes it down to where you're making second exclusives of characters?
As...
Smiley- the Mutations were those pink/purple dancing triplet monsters with orange hair that appeared on the Muppet Show; they were named as such in the Connie Stevens episode
Philip Kippel-
#2 Connie Stevens- they're Connie's backup group for her number "Teenager in Love". It is in this...
Questions/comment for Ken
Ken,
I kind of agree with the last person who said it, that Floyd's nose looks too big. Maybe when it's painted it will look better. Guess I'll have to wait and see about that one.
Questions:
1) Are the tux exclusives planned for Rowlf and Fozzie still on...
Sorry!
My apologies Ken. Didn't mean to call you out- just thought maybe the stuff was being sent by a low priority postage. It was more an inquiry about the speed at which it was being (or to be) sent than if it had.
Once again, I apologize for any inconsideration on my part.
David...
I was wondering the same thing
I remember you telling me two weeks ago that they'd ship out next week (which is now last week). Not trying to sound impatient, but I was wondering how long the shipping is proposed to take, be it 3-5 or a week or a few weeks. Just the general idea. Thanks...
Well, as I heard it from a Henson company archivist, they do that because Jim himself preferred the later version. The first season credits look kind of rough and low-budget. Since they always try to stay true to Jim's vision, the first season credits have been omitted ever since.
David...
Full list, TMS appearances
#3 Joel Grey:
"Comedy Tonight"- sang line "Something appealing, something appalling, something for everyone a comedy tonight!" and is then clubbed unconscious by Beautiful Day monster.
"Sherlock Holmes sketch"- called Fielding the butler- accused of murder, eats the...
Just so I don't have to search through all 512 messages in the Ask Ken at Palisades thread, what's the SKU number for the Series 1 set? I'm planning to call Toys 'R Us some time this week. Thanks.
Dave
Thanks everybody
I was afraid no one had remembered. Then I remembered there's a feature on the board that tells you whose birthday it is. I have the misfortune of having a birthday the day after Jim Henson's death. Heck of an irony.
20 was one of the best birthdays I've had in a while...
Re: "Let a Smile be your Umbrella"
Well, my best friend and I created some characters and it's really something I had in mind for one of them, but it was Muppety inspired. I got the idea from Link's "I Talk to the Trees", a musical number cut short by something unexpected that fits with the...
Three quick questions, Ken
One: what are the dimensions of the band stage playset? It looks bigger than 6 X 10 inches.
Two: is Floyd's mustache still getting a trim?
Three: how are the wilder hairs on Floyd, Animal, and Crazy Harry coming along?
David "Gorgon Heap" Ebersole
I've said it before, I'll say it again. "New York, New York" sung by a male guest star with the Mutations in tux, top hat and tails and city Muppets.
Chopin's "Grande Valse Brilliante": UK Spot; excerpt, played by Rowlf. This is the song in E flat major that accompanied the flamingo clip on...
Re: Koozebane
Ken,
Wondered if you had done any preliminary sketches or come up with any ideas for the Koozebane playset. Obviously part of this interest comes from the fact that I made you the reference tape. What do you think you'll use? The real classic Koozebane sketches are the...
Well personally I don't think I'd buy one. I like Pepe well enough, he's grown on me recently, but I'd much prefer sticking to the TMS Muppets.

Re: chances and more
Hi Ken
Just wanted to add to previous post. As far as the idea I mentioned about 'booster packs' of background characters, would those have to be considered part of the series specifically? My thinking was they wouldn't occupy a figure slot but would be additional...
