On the show, there's a running joke that he has terrible breath.
In real life, and I know this b/c I was at MuppetFest, Sweetums's fur feels almost like burlap; very rough, not soft at all, the way it looks on TV.

I didn't know that. I've heard the track but I'm not sure if I've ever seen it.
He was.
I couldn't remember Chris Cerf's name or Little Chrissy & the Alphabeats until you mentioned it. The dark blue monster, I discovered, is the same in both- if you look closely, you can see that the...
How very true.
Sorta. I started out writing just an outline, but I wrote so much that turning it into a full script required only a little extra effort- I must've been more than halfway through when I realized that I had almost a whole script.
Thanks for commenting.

Was watching these on "Monster Hits" and realized they use the same three backup monsters and each uses a (presumably) new monster as well.
Were these sketches taped at the same time? If so, anyone know when they were taped?

IMO the biggest factor in said decline has been the writing. KSY could've been better with another rewrite and some restraint. Also a director with an eye for subtlety and not the compulsion to overplay everything to the hilt, and human actors who can actually act. But it starts with the...
I have come to love MCC and it has become a Christmas tradition for me. But that was a Jerry Juhl script, mind you, and Jerry is no longer with us. Since MCC, I think every project has gotten progressively worse. MTI wasn't quite as good as MCC IMO, and MFS was nothing to write home about...
Bill,
Kind of a gray area. On TMS, LCM did eat a Muppet computer, piece by piece, including it's puppet mouth. And he eyed the Male Koozebanian to eat at the end of the Roger Moore episode. Other than that, no, he never ate any Muppets on TMS.
However, I believe he ate an alligator in...
It says on IMDb that Brian Henson is directing- is that correct? I'm just checking, 'cause IMDb isn't always accurate. If he is, I have no problem with it- he did a terrific job on "The Muppet Christmas Carol" (of course, he was working with a script by Jerry Juhl, so one would really have to...
Did anybody else notice what I did? Screenplay by Annette Duffy and David Odell, Emmy-winning staff writer from The Muppet Show and moreover the screenwriter of the original Dark Crystal. That should be enough to give one some hope. Shows that they're not just giving the assignment to some...
Piggy at turns, Wanda, 'Sexy Muppet', the two purple sopranos from SS, one of the pigs from "Everybody's Song". There are more I'm sure.

I do remember that. They were two consecutive shots, too.
Thought so, it's the first I remember seeing him.
Take a step back one episode to “We Love You Wembley” and I have the Morris puppet playing a saxophone before I came up with the idea of putting glasses on him. The “We Love You...
See, when I got info about said episodes from Henson.com, I got two different answers too, only mine didn't concern the Andy Williams episode. There was confusion re: the Alan Arkin and Carol Channing episodes, which was #92 and which was #95. I still don't know for sure, only know that Carol...
All those episodes you listed are among my favorites, too. I haven't seen "Boober Rock" yet, but all the others. My list also includes "Marooned", "The Secret of Convincing John", "The Beanbarrow, the Burden, and the Bright Bouquet", and the final trilogy of episodes, and lots more, actually...
Great show. Colorful villains, a vain, egotistical, often blundering hero, and snappy dialogue. Would love to have this on DVD.
