I always thought it was a bird. Rowlf, as Dr. Bob, says in Vet's Hospital: "let's face it, this bird has one foot in the grave".
Interestingly enough, the Don Knotts & Rudolf Nureyev episodes were the first that I ever had on tape, so I was quite used to it, although I agree, it was a little...
Thanks, Bill!
As far as the cold opening, I was just kinda going down the list of which big monsters hadn't been used in actual cold openings, since that was the trend in early Season Two.

There's a scene in "Down at Fraggle Rock", just after the explanation of how the Gorgs work, where they show the Gorgs in action in a scene from an episode: Pa & Ma are wearing bathing suits and are going to frolic in the creek, and Junior wants to come too but is made to stay behind.
Anyone...
Not a bad idea to use Leroy. I'll have to consider that.
Also, all the links I posted to pics of Gilford have disappeared, so here's his Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Gilford

From the episodes with Phyllis George and Jean-Pierre Rampal. The first is apparently Lewis Kazagger interviewing the Zucchini Brothers and other acts, the second a French sidewalk cafe scene. I saw on the Muppet Wiki that the other groups in the first scene were named, and the second scene...
Has anyone seen the scene? Could someone who's seen it please tell me the context, i.e. who is the guy and why does Carla the Big Mean Mom eat him? Thanks.
And thanks for the link, TSF. I can't believe I didn't think to look at the Muppet Wiki before.

As did Big Mama, at the end of the episode.
Eatings always scared me, though after a while I get desensitized. One that freaked me out recently was Big Mean Carl's mother eating a blonde pink male Whatnot backstage- it's in a montage on YouTube, and it really freaked me out because I could...
Hello all,
I'm trying to find sheet music of "Never Before, Never Again" in order to arrange it for barbershop quartet. If anyone has a line on the sheet music for this selection, a scan thereof, or the Muppet Movie songbook, please respond in this thread or via email or PM. Thanks...
I caught a clip on YouTube of Carl's mother eating a pink male Whatnot, but don't remember this clip from the episode. Can anyone describe this scene to me? Thanks.

I didn't know he was sick, either. He's not much older than my parents, to boot.
He's been a favorite of mine as long as I can remember. I wrote a TMS outline with him that was a long time in coming. Very sad news indeed.
RIP.

Took me a second to process it when I read 'in memoriam'. I went "In Memoriam?" And scrambled to find an obituary online. I didn't even know he was sick.
This is a bleak day. One of my all-time favorites has died. Been listening to him as long as I can remember.
God speed, Dan...
Thoughts about scale- would it not be simpler, instead of making the Gorgs to scale with the Fraggle figures and thus too large to be displayed, to include miniature Fraggles along with the Gorgs? They used miniature Fraggles on the show to achieve scale with the Gorgs, so the Gorgs could come...
Let me amend what I said. The fracas with Jerry Lawler caused public opinion to turn against him; he was summarily voted off SNL forever.
-The Devil's minions: well, he had 3, so I'd say Richard, Frank and Jim; also appearing in the number would be the Repairman (Steve), a cow, a pig, an...
The late Andy Kaufman, for those of you who don't know, was a very different sort of comedian who, well, basically amused himself at the expense of the audience. In his early acts, he'd lip-synch to "Mighty Mouse" and other assorted records, and he'd pretend he was a foreigner and do lousy...
Realized a little while back that the scream when Piggy gets eaten in the Sherlock Holmes sketch doesn't sound like Frank, but rather it sounds like Eren Ozker. Perhaps she was performing the character the whole time and they just looped Frank over it? Seems like they did the same thing for...
TMS is my favorite show. Is, was, and always will be.
That said, I wanted to like MT but didn't. IMO it represented beginning of the shift in tone that characterizes many of the Muppet productions today. I agree with Heralde's "teenagers acting like adults" comment. The humor was less...
