This may be a little off subject, but it's great that there are people who still actually watch Sesame Street Unpaved, since it's only on on the weekend now. I mean, I still watch it, even though they haven't added any new shows. And you know, the fact that all the do is show the same episodes...
I just looked at some of the other petitions on that website, and I realize that when I first started the petition, I made a mistake in the place where it says, "to:", I entered in "Revive Sesame Street Unpaved," because I thought it meant something else. But now that I look at it more closely...
It just so happens that there was a recent sketch, probably one of the last ones with Grover and Fat Blue, where he was a telegram deliverer, and Elmo was a train-ee. That is, Grover was showing Elmo how to do the job. As you may have guessed, Fat Blue was taking a nap, and tells Grover to go...
That's a very good idea. What I think I'm gonna do, is ask Herbert Birdsfoot if I can have a pic.
(goes to knock)
Yeah, but wait a minute. You know what? Gee, I just happen to think... Right about this time, every day, old Herbert Birdsfoot eats his supper. Mm-hmm. I'll bet he's in there...
Life does not go on without Unpaved. Well, not for me, or some of us here, at least. Do you think it would be possible to publish this petition somewhere else? Like a newspaper, or CNN, or some public news service? Maybe then we would get more signatures.
I do know that the classic SS DVD...
Or another thing I should have said was, for some reason, I thought the petition would actually work. Even though people tried to convince me that it wouldn't. I mean, if we could get all of our friends to sign it, it sure would have a lot more signatures. What I would like to know is if there...
It just so happens that I actually went to see a variety show tonight. It had singing, dancing, magic, and juggling, all in one show. This is very similar to what Sesame Street used to have in all its years, back before it went down the tubes. I mean, would you consider Sesame Street a variety...
I do love Bruce Stringbean's "Born To Add," along with some of those other rock parodies, such as:
The Beetles "Letter B", "Hey Food"
Mick Swagger and the Cobble Stones "(I Can't Get No) Co-Operation)"
Moe Cocker "A Little Yelp From My Friends"
Billy Idle "Rebel L"
Over The Top "ZZ Blues"...
I do know the space one that Janice & Mokey's Man is talking about, and I remember this other one that practically no one remembers:
It starts off with a woman on a horse singing a country version of the traditional Alphabet Song, and at the end she sings:
d` The country is the place for me...
I actually get the impression that Sesame Street stopped doing record albums before most people in the music industry did. From what I understand, they actually stopped making records in the 80s. Most people stopped making them in the late 80s-early 90s. I have been curious to why they stopped...
Well, Sesame Street sure has stopped using old clips pretty much, but occasionally, they will throw in an old Bert & Ernie skit. Here are the ones they have used last season:
Ernie brings home a puppy.
"Dance Myself to Sleep"
"I Don't Want To Live On The Moon"
Ernie teaches his...
I have seen the skits about the number 5, and the one about the mystery box on Plaza Sesamo, but I have never seen them in English, so I would never have known what they were about. Can someone tell me how they went?
I wouldn't exactly say that's true. I have this old album called "The Stars Come Out On Sesame Street," which has many songs by celebrities and muppets. Johnny Cash did a song called "Nasty Dan" with Oscar, Grover performed with Madeline Kahn and Lena Horne, and I know that Biff did something...
One thing I was told was that Sesame English is actually a replacement for Elmo's World, and they actually have a whole bunch of old clips. And as I understand, the songs are actually in English. So I guess they actually don't believe in Elmo's World! I mean, you'd be surprised how many old...
Was "If I Knew You Were Coming I'd've Baked A Cake" ever on the show? And also, can someone tell me what "Handful of Crumbs" was like? I've heard the song, but I've never seen the segment.
The Salesman
I think what was scary about the salesman was, he and Ernie, or whoever he was with, would be talking very quietly. And then, out of nowhere, Ernie would say something loud, and he'd be like, "SHSHSHSHSHSH!!!!!!!" In a few of them, Ernie actually got scared to death.
