Does anyone remember this classic PBS commercial from the 70s?
Kermit was in his news reporter outfit talking with Cookie Monster. He was asking Cookie what his favorite PBS shows were. Of course, Cookie replied everything with a cookie.
COOKIE: "Sesame Cookie!"
KERMIT: "No, that's...
Another unusual, but favorite MS episode of mine that had Loretta Lynn as the guest star.
In this episode, their theater was being fumigated so they had to do the show somewhere else. And Gonzo arranged for the show to be at a train station. The show had a totally different opening with the...
We know the story of Snuffy finally being seen by everyone on Sesame Street. But has anyone seen the aftermath of that episode?
What I remember in the next episode, Big Bird and Snuffy were in Big Bird's home remembering that exciting time that happened yesterday. But then Big Bird feared...
Besides the Fraggles and Doozers, what other cave creatures do you think are neat. My favorites are....
Those singing clams found stuck on rocks.
The fuzzy stick creatures that pop out of tube shaped rocks.
Those little gray frogs that are ususally seen dancing around.
Mudwell the...
Does anyone know if Bill Barretta ever got a chance to meet Jim Henson? Bill seems to be a big part of the Muppet team now and I wonder if he ever got the chance to meet Jim. And I wonder what Jim thinks of Bill's performances when he's watching them from heaven?
I was thinking about the long lives Waldorf and Statler lived and how they talked about little bits of their pasts in certain episodes.
WALDORF'S LIFE:
Waldorf said he was once on the Titanic. And in one episode, Statler told Waldorf he'd better get out his old army uniform, so Waldorf...
Does anyone remember the skits where full sized versions of the Muppets ice skated?
The first had Bert in bed suffering from insomnia. Ernie suggests he imagine ice skating. So Bert does. And it showed a full sized Bert skating across an ice skating rink with beautiful music playing. And...
I've noticed when Frank Oz retired from the Muppets, Animal kept going from Muppeteer to Muppeteer. Fisrt to Kevin Clash, then Eric Jacobson, then John Kennedy, then Bill Barretta, and now back to Eric. I wonder if Animal will ever get a permanent Muppeteer soon.
Muppets Meet the M&Ms Gang.
COMMERCIAL #1
We see the talk spot wall with Kermit and the Green Girl M&M. "So you're the famous green M&M everyone wants?" said Kermit.
"You bet, Kerm", smiled Green. "And I've always wanted to meet a cute green guy like yourself. Do you mind if I give you...
I've noticed on Sesame Street these days, they don't ever show or mention the food bacon. Sure, in the early episodes, they had Cookie Monster eat all of Bert's bacon and Ernie's letter X to go with it. And Fat Blue ordering strips of bacon at Charlie's.
But now when they do breakfast...
A lot of people have been comparing Jim Henson's and Steve Whitmire's Kermit voice. But I'd like to point out that famous voice artist Frank Welker had voiced the cartoon Baby Kermit. And he got Kermit's personality pretty good too.
Just a little food survey here. Who or which places do you think makes the best kinds of food. Here are my opinnions.
1. Hamburgers: Chesapeake City Deli
2. French Fries: McDonald's
3. Pizza: Pizza Hut
4. Fried Chicken: KFC
5. Fish: Long John Silver's
6. Hot Dogs: Dumar's
7. Buffalo...
Does anyone remember the cartoon, Nancy the Nannygoat? It was from the same animators who made Wanda the Witch and kind of the same storyline. Only Nancy lived North of Nantucket while Wanda lived West of Washington. And Nancy had a nightingale while Wanda had a weasel. Also Nancy's...
One of my favorite SS films was the one called LISTEN.
It starts off with some quiet soothng noises starting with a beach wave, a doctor listening to a boy's heart, ticking clocks, a galloping horse, and a kid in bed listening to crickets. While a woman said, "Listen", a couple of times...
Does anyone remember this episode from the early 80's?
Oscar was watching Slimey opening up his own hot dog stand with a tiny cart. Telly came along and saw the small sign, "Hot Dogs, 1 cent each." Telly thought that was the most amazing deal ever and decided to buy a dog with everything on...
Didn't I see Richard Hunt playing a real live phone guy in a couple of SS episodes in the early 80's? The first time, when he came in an interrupted Maria's work to show her the new phone booth installed in the street.
And another time when Richard was going to install a wall phone on Big...
What are you favorite Sesame Street written fairy tales that the grown ups like to tell us? Mine are...
Bob telling, The King of Y.
Bob telling, The King and the Fireman.
Maria telling The King's Picnic, (I liked all the potato salad that covered the countryside.)
Maria telling, Ike...
I believe there was Frank Oz who did Thig in the Great Santa Claus Switch.
Carroll Spinney who did Big Bird, and now sometimes by Matt Vogel.
Jerry Nelson did Thog, Sam the Robot, and the front half of the Snuffy, who was then taken over by Martin P. Robinson.
Richard Hunt did Sweetums...
Does anyone remember this old rarely seen skit from the 70s?
Bob tells the story of the King of Y. The king, who was light purple with a white mustache and holding a scepter with a capital Y on it, voiced by Frank Oz, made an announcement. He would give a guy his daughter's hand in marraige...
Where do you suppose Miss. Piggy learned her karate moves from? I'm thinking that she had a wise teacher who taught her the martial arts before she met Kermit. And I also wonder how this teacher would feel hearing how Piggy uses her karate for negative things like bullying people and striking...
