The funny thing is if you watch the MT! episodes in production order, you can see the smoother attempt at showing more of the classic characters at the beginning and more gradually working in the newer ones - but with the episodes being broadcast in a more random order, the new characters seemed...
I knew the newspaper must have been in - but as others have stated, if you don't have an HD tv, you can't see it (too bad the production staff at SW weren't even thinking about the majority of its viewers who don't have the fanciest-shmanciest latest technology when they did some of these)...
Threads like this dealing with "hot-button" political issues tend to go all over the place and i don't want to comment on a bunch of stuff that's been said elsewhere or have been already covered by others in this thread - however amidst the things that have been brought up in regards to Whoopi's...
Oh yeah, Dinosaurs had tons of hand puppets for two reasons:
- because there were so many sizes of Dinosaurs, it made more sense to have smaller characters (not just Dinosaurs but also various other creatures, "food", "clothes", etc)
- the expense involved with building full bodied suits...
So much for the days of "Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus"...
Heard a radio promo regarding a national tour of Macy's Santa Claus - including the phrase "See the world's most famous Santa Claus" - if i was in a better mood, i may have laughed at the irony but it just made me sad instead...
The industry took a big hit today as the official announcement has just been made that As the World Turns has been cancelled. Once it end its run, that will leave the number of network daytime dramas down to only six, practically half as many as there were just a few years ago.
I don't see this as unrealistic at all. The Muppets had both a movie and a special out at the same time with The Muppet Movie/The Muppets Go Hollywood, Great Muppet Caper/The Muppets Go to the Movies (in both these cases the specials were a promo tool for the respective movie), they went right...
Just for the sake of noting it, that was just for the Classic Muppets. He still does stuff for Sesame when he's able including some segments for the most recent season.
Good catches - both puppets were indeed recycled versions of those respective characters.
I'm sure many of us love when the Muppets are on primetime network television, but let's not forget the target audience for Sesame Street is young children so i'm sure many parents were quite grateful to...
Well, technically speaking, his first "guest" appearance would have been the very first time he took advantage of using puppetry in high school as a method of getting into television when he made his tv debut on The Junior Morning Show in 1954. (Hey, he had to be a guest on other people's shows...
Both. The latest Gonzo puppet actually isn't too bad - in many ways it's an improvement because for the last decade Gonzo's features have become real generic and oversimplified. The latest puppet gets Gonzo back on track for the most part BUT they made the nose too big and it throws off the...
Chuckles at the notion of anyone being offended by the Swedish Chef! You can never tell too easily what he's saying so if he had a Frank Oz-style potty mouth, we probably wouldn't know it!
...which may make him a target of the same school principal banning Beakanese!
Still the thought of...
This is an album of popular artists doing Muppet cover versions. You won't find "all the old songs" (that wouldn't happen unless you had a pretty massive box set!) but there will be lots of old classics like Bein Green, Rainbow Connection (done by Weezer), Mahna Mahna, Halfway Down the Stairs...
Just to add to that. Since Wilkins Coffee was local, the Muppets spend the next decade basically doing different versions of the Wilkins commercials for different regional products (including other coffee companies) across the country. Sometimes they even used the Wilkins and Wontkins puppets...
I would definately use the Palisades action figure as a reference for his lower half. The rare times we saw his legs were so brief that even if you freeze framed a screengrab you'd just get a blurred shot because he's moving so quickly (either falling down or being thrown up)
OMG - haven't watched that clip yet but i was totally in tears laughing at that description! I'll bet Kermit gave some classic "eep" or "oh my" type reactions to that! Too bad those Bloopers shows/specials aren't on the air anymore - that would be a priceless moment to show on one of those...
A Muppet Freak Mupdate
Many of you know that my blog discussing fandom (with an emphasis on Muppet/Henson fandom) has been put on hold due to everything in my personal life falling apart this year.
Well, it still is. But during its hiatus, something weird happened. My hit count doubled...
I agree. I tuned it basically to see if there might be any kind of Muppet related promos or anything like for example some of the Give a Day commercials and there was nada. They didn't even air any commercials for LTS when they were at the Macy's Parade or during Christmas at Rockefeller...
