Nora: Thanks, Adam...smells good. (goes into kitchen)
Erin: (going through a book with Storyteller) Hmm, yes, that looks good...that's okay, too...no, that one's way too complicated...
Storyteller: Well, we all know he's fond of orange and chocolate. And it's summer, so we might consider an ice...
Yeah, a pep talk would have been awesome - but for most of us in the RHLC, that talk would have to be in an entirely different location, don't you know. And freakishly huge is right - this is probably one of the longest threads in the "Family and Friends" section...but it's all worth it...
Well, here's my shot at "Forum."
Pseudolus: Kermit
Hysterium: Fozzie
Senex: Sam the Eagle
Domina: Miss Piggy
Hero: Scooter
Philia: Annie Sue
Miles Gloriosus: Link Hogthrob
Erronius: Pops or Julius Strangepork
Marcus Lycus: Gonzo
Tintinabula: Camilla
Panacea: Janice
Geminae Twins: Whatnots...
Speaking of links between the Muppets and Tintin, I learned something interesting today. It appears that two of the composers - Ray Parker and Tom Szczesniak - who wrote the soundtrack for the 1990s Tintin series were also among the musicians who recorded the soundtrack for Fraggle Rock.
Let's see...I just read "The Kalahari Typing School For Men," by Alexander McCall Smith. That one's rather good.
With college starting back up at the end of the month, most of my reading's going to be from textbooks before long. (sigh)
Erin: If you've got any treacle sponge in there, Adam, I wouldn't say no to a bit of that.
Nora: Treacle sponge?
Erin: Steamed treacle pudding...I first tried it when we went to London last year. (swoons) It's heavenly with a splash of vanilla custard.
Storyteller: Judging from the way you talk...
That is a cool story, MBM. It certainly must have been amazing for Kevin...I mean, running into a top-ranking Muppet performer like that is cool enough, but getting a pep talk from that same man...I think every single Muppet fan has dreamed about that at least once.
Erin: If she's a witch, then I'm a direct descendant of Rowena Ravenclaw. And Bunsen, it's called a Memory Charm. (pause) Beaker, if you're planning on impersonating the Dark Lord, just be forewarned that I've got a holly and phoenix feather wand, plus a real knack for the Disarming Charm...
Update:
I know it's been posted in two other threads already, but the block containing Richard's panel is now posted on the AIDS quilt web site. It's block #5765, just spotted it fifteen minutes ago.
Storyteller: Oh, now, Alex, it's all right. I'll bring you a moss pack and some aloe vera and we'll help those to heal (hears screaming from Erin's room)...now what is that girl yelling about?
Erin: (from behind closed door) It's up! It's up! (runs out) The photo's up!
Nora: Photo?
Erin: Right...
Hey, maybe we can hit 300 by Richard's birthday.
But more importantly:
The AIDS quilt block containing Richard's panel now has a photo posted on the quilt web site!
And the way they've got it all set up, Richard's panel is pretty much in the center.
(back in room 7)
Erin: (collapsing into chair) Thank heavens that's over and done with. (wearily tosses silver items aside)
Storyteller: The Count knows how to handle that sort of thing, eh, Nora...Nora?
Erin: She's in her room.
Storyteller: She hasn't been bitten or scratched, has she?
Erin...
The group now hovers in the doorway. There are two reading lamps now trained on Alex, along with a silver cake cutter, a box of silver bullets, and several sprigs of wolfsbane.
Down on the ground, Crazy Harry stands ready to set off an explosion, should the "patient" try to jump...
Erin: (holding cake cutter over her head) Uh-oh.
Nora: Now what!
Erin: (grabs walkie-talkie) Code silver, code silver. Alex is loose on the grounds. Repeat: Alex is loose on the grounds. Secure all entrances and exits, and have Crazy Harry ready with a round of assorted pyrotechnic gadgets...
(outside the door to room 42)
Storyteller: Let's see, we've got Lips and Dr. Teeth and ZootyCutie, and me and Nora and Erin...
Erin: All we need is the Count with the potion.
Storyteller: (as Count appears) Ah, here he is.
Erin: Right. Count, we'll subdue Alex, and you'll make her drink the...
Nora: (on phone) Yes, Ed, right away. (hangs up) Alex is a werewolf!
Storyteller: She's been like that for the last three hours or so...something's got to be done.
Nora: Erin, get the garlic!
Erin: No! Garlic's for vampires...for werewolves, and for anyone with lycanthropy, you need silver...
Erin: Duly noted. Thank you, both for the info and for your custom. (pockets the gelato fee and looks up) Guys, it's not about you.
(up in heaven)
Jerry: So I can't make them do crunches. Pity.
Jim: Now, Jerry, you were our head writer, not our personal fitness trainer.
(Richard flies by...
Storyteller: Hey, newsy floozy...
Erin: Don't call me newsy floozy! I am a respected reporter, so no one calls me newsy floozy! (pause) Except me.
Storyteller: Anyway, respected reporter, we have an order for one pint of pineapple-mint gelato, for room 1.
Erin: Ah. Coming up. (scoops gelato...
