(all the belongings of room 7's occupants have been put into storage, to await the move-back-in)
Storyteller: Well...that's that.
Beige: I think I gave myself a hernia hauling that one bookcase out. (rubs stomach)
Nora: Have the room keys been turned in?
Scooter: Yeah, I dropped them off at...
I couldn't really listen to the MuppetCast, since it kept fizzling on me, so I'd really love to see some of the photos that Jane and Steve talked about. I mean - all that stuff they discussed, all the photos and memorabilia and stuff - that's a Muppet fan's dream come true.
Nora: Pass me the packing tape, will you?
Beige: Here ya go - (tape knocks over a vase) Oops.
Storyteller: (catching vase) Nice aim - how's everyone else doing?
Erin: My books, quilts and lava lamp are all packed. I'm going to work on the stereo.
Scooter: I've packed everything except my...
Erin: (unplugging stereo and record player, and fingering the cross hanging around her neck) Mother of Bram Stoker...we have a few Nosferatus on the premises.
Scooter: (taking down his posters) First werewolves, now this...do we have any garlic left?
Storyteller: (starting to dismantle hut)...
In Richard's case, it was a combination of genetics and an accident on the playground when he was a little kid. Ouch.
Just took another glance at the final scene of Trading Places, with the mob scene in the trading pit. Richard pretty much turns into a human pinball...and he really looks...
But wait a minute - when I saw his spot on "Down at Fraggle Rock," I saw a distinct gap in his teeth. And that would have been 3-4 years after "Trading Places."
Nora: Are we going to have a repeat of last year?
Beige: I don't know - what happened?
Erin: Oh, a few people barricaded themselves on the roof and started a near revolt or something.
Storyteller: It didn't come to a revolt, Erin - but I do remember some foodstuffs being thrown.
Scooter: I think...
Scooter: (adjusting knob on crystal set) Move the antenna a little more to the left...no, right!
Beige: (moving antenna) Boy, I hope you get that server fixed, Erin.
Erin: (adjusting wattage on radio) Yeah, you and me both. Of all the nights for my computer to not want to pick up the...
And as you can see, Snowball, we could also go on and on about what we like about that man, if the last 400+ pages of RHLC topics are any indication.
Yeah, the story about Richard taking his friend out for a few nights on the town (over the course of six weeks, from the sound of it) to help...
No, Andrew hit in 1992 (by which time Richard was unavailable to get a rooftop view of any storms). I was six and a half at the time, and I remember seeing all the storm coverage on the news and the Weather Channel back in the day.
But, yeah, Andrew was bad enough that they retired the name...
I briefly wondered what the $500 that Doc Hopper offered Kermit would be today if you adjusted for inflation, and I looked once again for Jerry and Richard's cameos in the El Sleezo (there was a bearded guy who looked a lot like Jerry, but I couldn't get a good look at the other guy at the...
Wow, where did someone dig that one up?
Tonight, Mom and I took in The Muppet Movie, in Richard's honor...and we've quoted along at least one-third of the lines. Proof that we've seen the movie too many times, hmm? ;)
(gang is gathered around table, with cake, ice cream and punch - there is a huge arrangement of peonies in the middle)
Scooter: (singing) It's in every...one...of us...to be wise...
Nora: (singing) Find...your heart...open up both your eyes...
Erin: (singing) We can all know everything...
No, make that 22...er, 21.
And let's set out the orange juice while we're at it. (sets out two large crystal pitchers of orange juice, with glasses)
Happy birthday to our pal Richie.
Scooter: Hey, thanks, guys! (takes chocolate into the kitchen)
Erin: Great - this saves me a trip to the shop tomorrow.
Nora: What did Ed say about cranberry juice?
Scooter: Oh - he said that he had a punch recipe that contained what we're using, plus cranberry juice.
Storyteller: Oh, do let's...
I'm bumping this up about three hours in advance, my time, but what the hey.
Happy birthday to one of the Muppets' best, brightest, most brilliant, funniest, kindest...
Voice from the clouds: Your face!
Sorry about that; got carried away.
Happy birthday to you, dear Richard Hunt. ;)...
Erin: (over whir of mixer) How's the cake coming?
Scooter: (glancing at oven timer) Needs ten more minutes.
Nora: Want me to get going on the chocolate-dipped oranges?
Erin: Please do - and we might as well mix up the punch tonight.
Beige: (rummaging through pantry) So what do we need - orange...
Hi, Snowball (or Kayleigh or Amanda, whichever you prefer), and welcome to the RHLC. If you're a Richard Hunt fan, you're automatically a member. My name is Erin, and it's nice to have you around.
And that's correct, Richard's got a birthday tomorrow - would have been his 57th. You'll also...
(gang is planning a menu for the 16th)
Erin: ...so, right. One chocolate cake with orange buttercream icing...
Nora: With some chocolate-dipped orange slices as a garnish.
Scooter: A big bowl of orange punch, some garlic-peanut butter popcorn...
Beige: The donuts, don't forget the donuts...
