Scooter: (looking out window at rainstorm) Blurgh...what an awful night...along with an awful afternoon, and an awful morning...
Erin: Oh, yeah, and I need to buy myself a new umbrella - one of the struts snapped while I was out on assignment.
Storyteller: Already...you do seem to go through...
Well, as I've said, if they are in that scene, my money's on those two guys who are arm-wrestling at a table as Kermit walks in. One of them has a beard very similar to Jerry's...as for the other, I can't really tell because Kermit's head is in the way.
And if that is them...perhaps it was the...
Nice work, Marty!
As for me, the Potter series is the only one I've really read end to end - I've skipped around some of the Narnia books, and I managed somehow or other to get through Lord of the Rings a while back.
Let's see, what fantasy series am I reading these days...well, I'm quite fond...
(gang is lounging around)
Scooter: (reading a comic book) Uh, isn't it supposed to be "your face?"
Nora: (re-reading Wuthering Heights) Well, maybe Richard doesn't want other people ripping off his catch phrase.
Erin: (reading the paper) Tell me, are Hindley and Heathcliff at each other's...
With school security being what it is, Nekoshema, I'm amazed you guys were even able to get the water guns into school in the first place!
But, yeah, the water fight is oddly appropriate - Terry Angus told one story about how, early on in Fraggle Rock's run, Richard would go around the set...
Well, he did get teased a bit when he was in elementary school - and when he had a paper route in middle school, he had a problem with a group of bullies swiping his papers and tossing them into a mud puddle. And let's face it, we've all been there before.
Somebody once said that a person is...
Beige: (listening in) Sugar binge. Sounds like a plan to me...do we have any more of that triple-fudge crunch?
Nora: Have at it - I hear that the FDA's got that on a watch list because of the sheer amount of caffeine and sugar. (goes looking for strawberry shortcake)
Storyteller: Well, I am all...
I know...and it also seems sometimes that the good people in this world go unnoticed while the bad, evil and just plain obnoxious types get all the attention.
And I agree - I often listen to Richard's speeches myself whenever I'm feeling kind of stressed out or confused - which happens quite a...
Whoa...Richard Hunt as a werewolf. While it's well-documented that he was an energetic goof-off, I don't think we have any instances of him howling at the moon. ;) (nervously fingers some pieces of silver, just in case)
I agree, Nekoshema - that second dream is fairly creepy, but I really love...
(gang's doing some start-of-fall re-arranging of the apartment)
Storyteller: (singing, while dusting the furniture) Try to remember, that time in September...
Beige: (chiming in, while checking the fridge) The milk's gone sour...and oh, so yellow...
Storyteller: Beige, I am trying to sing here...
Absolutely - and it's been commented that of the Muppet performers, Richard seemed the most calm and at ease that day. And you're right - by that time, he knew that he was sick and that time was running out.
You really get the sense that he's got something important to say, and not much more...
Hi, Nekoshema, welcome to the RHLC, and to the forum - it looks as if you're new on the block.
Our sentiments exactly - none of us here in the thread got to meet Richard when he was alive - except for Amanda, since she's his niece and all that. :)
But yeah, Richard was the best friend we never...
I know - it is really interesting to speculate what the Muppet performers would have kept on their bookshelves and night tables back in the day.
I believe the topic came up right around the time the seventh Potter book came out - it seems to me that both Jim and Richard would have approved of...
I'm really sorry to hear about Max...and trust me, I know where you're coming from. I went through the exact same thing last year when one of my dogs, a German shorthaired pointer named Marta, had to be put to sleep.
She was 13 years, seven months old, so she'd had a good run, but it was...
Erin: (reading "Our Town") I don't know, the Sisters of Charity can be pretty formidable.
Nora: How far along are you?
Erin: I'm just at the part where Emily starts getting cold feet.
Nora: Oh, so not everyone's dead yet.
(off in another room)
Scooter: (whacking a spoon against a kettle) Bring...
I really like that article - and I think that was one of the first hints we saw of Richard's spiritual side, the side of him that wasn't an all-out goof off.
And of course, it points out that Richard put up a good fight, right up to the end.
A few nights ago, I dreamed that a group of friends and I were watching the Muppet performers rehearse their songs and speeches for Jim's memorial service - and a couple of them, Richard included, came over and talked to us at one point.
A few oddities, though - a few of them were discussing...
