Agreed - We're never going to get the past back again. But I think it's also OK to enjoy what was good about the past.
I think Sesame Workshop is at least aware that there are plenty of adults out there who enjoy seeing the old skits once in a while. "Sesame St. Unpaved" and the "Old School"...
Over in the "Sesame worlds" section of the forum, there is a thread saying that "Play with me Sesame" has moved to PBS Sprout, and that there have been a few older clips shown on that show. Those of you with PBS Sprout may want to check it out...
I've found that classic children's albums are some of the hardest to find on CD. Not only Sesame Street, but there are very few albums of classic kids' shows that are available on CD in any form. Along with old religious albums and, as mentioned, comedy albums, those can be some of the rarest to...
I think we may have shopped at the same Tower Records, Drtooth! I remember seeing literally stacks of "Follow that Bird" CDs for sale at the stores in my area. I have no idea why they would have so many spare copies of that one. I wonder what they did with all the copies that they didn't sell...
Indeed, "old" could depend on however old the person making the list is! But here are some of my favorite shows from the past that bring back a few good thoughts. (Some of these shows are still on the air, so I guess I'm referring to the "classic" episodes!)
Sesame Street
Mister Rogers...
They're apparently not there yet. This site seems to be a "work in progress" & hopefully they'll have some clips later.
It's possible, I guess, that this is something they are still deciding if they want to do or not. We'll have to wait & see. In the meantime, we can enjoy the next "old...
Right - It's confusing, but there was a 1-hour special titled "Sesame Street Unpaved" just as there was a series on Noggin titled "Sesame Street Unpaved." Just as there was a book titled "Sesame Street Unpaved." :)
Marion to return
It was announced last week that Karen Allen will return as Marion in the next Indiana Jones film. Obviously, I don't know how big a role she will have, but she will be there. For Marion fans like me, this is great news. A warning: If you do visit the official "Indiana Jones"...
Nice list, SesameMike. I know that at least two of those sketches ("Sorry, wrong number" and "a day at the zoo") were included in the Noggin episodes, so hopefully some YouTube and Sesame fan out there has those. The rest are rare but classic- The Bert's Bottle caps skit is a favorite, as is the...
Hi - I'm looking for a specific issue of Electric Company magazine that I had in my "youth" but have since lost. It's (I think) the November 1980 issue with "Here's Boomer" on the cover. Even if you have this issue and DON'T want to trade or sell it, please contact me or post here anyway - it...
JimmyDeanDog - If your computer is able to burn computer files onto a CD, then please take a look at this blog posting. :)

Just a small Indy news item. The “Young Indiana Jones chronicles” are coming to DVD. I never got to see all the episodes of this, but they were pretty well-done from what I recall.

I wish I could remember more of them! The two that come to mind are "The Big Shrink" where Simon shrinks Underdog, and the "Cloud people" episode, where the clouds are stealing all the silver.
There was some episode years ago involving Polly being taken up into the air by several small...
I heard about that rumor over on the tvshowsondvd.com site - It would be very cool to have a complete series set of the original show. Believe it or not, there were less than 20 episodes!
My blog posting about Underdog features a few links. Enjoy it, but try not to laugh too much at the idea of me in red underwear. :)

I agree that the classic Underdog cartoons will probably always be the best, but I’ll...
Just an anecdote - Last Sunday I found a clip on YouTube from the Ed Sullivan show that contained the TVLand logo in the corner. I saved it to my favorites to watch again later, and by Wednesday evening the clip had been removed. So they obviously are pretty serious about "seeking and...
I won't be going this year (unfortunately), but I've been there in years past and it is quite an exciting (and crowded!) event. Comics and pop culture fans will enjoy it a lot. If you go, say hi to my friends Steve Troop of "Mayberry Melonpool" fame (hi, Steve!) and artist (and fellow "Electric...
If you happen to be attending the San Diego Comic Convention this year, be sure to stop by on July 27 to see a presentation that looks like it will focus on The Skrumps (as well as Puppet Up!). From the Comic Con website:
July 27, 4:15-5:45 The Jim Henson Company: The Skrumps, Puppet Up...
