You know i haven't seen the film in years to be honest and I believe i only saw it once or twice. I don't own a copy actually. I saw it when Nickelodeon used to run their Muppet Matinee thing on the weekends which I used to love because that's how I started taping the Muppet Shows again and...
Yes, mine is definitely the hand puppet although I find I can only get my finger in the bottom of his mouth to move it and the other fingers in his arms. But he's adorable and to me looks very much like the actual puppet :)
Yeah I know, Ebay it's everyone on their own :) I would've gotten both believe me, this was before I was working and stuff so I had to rely on mom for stuff :)
I heard they sell Bean Bunnies at Disney World I think (or at least they used to) but these were not the same ones. The Applause ones...
I have the Bean puppet. I don't know the collector's value of them, but I was told by Steve Whitmire himself the ones that were produced during the mid 1980s when Tale of the Bunny Picnic came out, that those were the harder to find ones. I also found mine as a fluke years ago at a local gift...
Oh, ok. Was just curious. Thanks for responding though. I also love your sculptures too. Was very impressed with the one of the elephant...amazing detail and character...
Victor is one of THE nicest people EVER. I used to work with him when I was interning at the NY Muppet workshop back in 1999 when Victor was a workshop employee. He was one of the greatest people to work for, and one of the nicest guys who I still keep in touch with on occassion. I hope Puppet...
Thanks for the response, James. I was showing my sister your site last night and she also was very impressed. What were the Canadian puppets (the bear, pig, etc.) made for? Those were a personal favorite. :)
Great, photos, all James. I have to ask you do you take a different approach when building the marionettes as opposed to the hand and rod puppets, or is basically the same with just more consideration for the movement? I particularly love the Griffin and Dragon marionettes....absolutely...
I don't know the details of this deal, but I can tell you I work for a photo archive here in NYC, and one of our clients used to be Genius. Now that they've gone big time, they no longer use our services...I would've LOVED to have worked on upcoming Sesame DVDs as I work in the DVD division of...
Wendygirl, congrats on meeting Steve and Dave. They are two of the nicest guys aren't they?? I'm friendly with STeve nad have met him on several occassions and Dave Goelz has given me a lot of his time when I met him once several years ago. Both the greatest...there was a nice article about the...
I absolutely LOVE Eric Jacobson's performing of Grover. From the voice to the physical mannerisms and the way Grover reacts to stuff, I thought it was very spot on, very close to Frank's way of performing him. I haven't seen him do enough of Bert and Fozzie to make a fair judgment but like...
You're welcome. Well it's supposed to be about how the Sesame producers have dealt with these topics recently on the show. I haven't been watching regularly but I think they did something with Elmo's dad going someplace...I'm sure it wasn't Iraq though LOL
I hope the new airdate I saw now...
Ok, they DID NOT air this special here on Long Island...I turned on PBS at 9 and there was Great Performances on for a two hour special....did anyone have it air near them? I was looking forward to this.. :(
When I visited the set I was not allowed to take photos of the random puppets laying around or while the performers were using them but we took lots of set pictures. I got one of my family and I on the famous stoop, my sister and I in front of the Furry Arms Hotel (yeah this was back in 1993)...
