I don't remember seeing Muppet Caper in the movies either but I clearly remember seeing MTM, Dark Crystal and I THINK Muppet Movie....never saw Labyrinth on the big screen and I SO wanted to go!
If you take a train from Westchester into NYC, you can get out to Long Island easily from Penn Station. There's a train that goes to Huntington and then you can just get a cab from the Huntington train station to the theater. Might cost you a bit but it sounds like it's going to be worth it!
Yes, I actually checked it out on their website (it was recently updated). I have a friend going out there this weekend and told him to pick one up for me. If not I should be there in the near future myself as well....thank you though! :)
Yes, I was very fortunate that I not only had my dream working for Henson come true for a little while but I got to do 95% real work and not just get coffee for people :) I was also fortunate in that I had an internship actually working with the puppets themselves which I know others hired...
I would LOVE to meet Eric Jacobson as I think he's doing a fantastic job with Frank's characters, particularly Grover. I HAD the opportunity to meet Frank Oz but didn't follow through with it because I was trying to do the right thing at the time...I can kick myself now.....
I used to intern with them but I did actual work for them as in worked on an episode of Bear in the Big Blue House and did actual work in their Muppet workshop. I never met Jim Henson though and never got full time work with them unfortunately....
You're welcome everybody. I try to earn my keep here :) I guess I'm also real excited there's going to be a Muppet event on Long Island for once instead of NYC (either way I gotta take the train somewhere but nice to have things local!)

There is updated information regarding the Henson and puppetry related events around the area during that weekend. Of course though one disadvantage to having info...
Geez, where to start: Steve Whitmire, Dave Goelz, Bill Barretta, Victor Yerrid (well WORKED with him more than just MET), Kevin Clash, Marty Robinson, Jane Henson, Cheryl Henson, Heather Henson, (have seen but didn't actually meet Brian and John), Carroll Spinney, Jerry Nelson, Carmen Osbahr...
If it's anything like the BAM event from a couple of years ago, or the event I attended at the Museum of T.V. and Radio in NYC a few years back, it's going to be awesome!
I am totally with you...I have no desire to have children ever. I'm almost 30 now and while I like kids generally and get along with them, I just don't see me raising them. I don't have that yearning/motherly instinct in me yet I love my cats, (and all animals mostly) and take care of them and...
I know there was a photo of his birthday party from several years ago on puppeteer Rick Lyon's website: www.lyonpuppets.com Go through his albums of photos and there's a shot of Kermit Love and guests at his birthday....
