Count: You got it. Sam & Dave; also very memorably done by the Blues Brothers. :)
Muppetfan44, thank you! I've put a lot into this and I'm glad it shows. Was up 'til way past sunrise last night writing the climactic next-to-last chapter. Worth every minute of lost sleep.
I see no one's...
If a thread for this already exists, I couldn't find it. (And yes...I always do research first for everything BUT those darned News Flashes...)
Seeing there are quite a few readers here (which makes sense to those of us who grew up with Sesame Street; I could read before kindergarten -- thanks...
I don't think I've ever heard anyone use the words "Sean Penn" and "teleprompter" in the same song before. Lovely! :)
This is fun stuff, dwmckim. Thanks for posting it.
Part 32
They’d managed to avoid being ticketed somehow, even after Animal ate the highway patrolman’s ticket book; Kermit took cell phone photos of all of them with the cop and Piggy flirted a bit with him while she posted the pics to Facebook. Thank goodness he’s a fan, Kermit thought, waving...
Zeppo, you gotta. Trust me. Who HASN'T wanted to riff on a cheesy old Japanese rubber monster costume flick? They're great!
(shamefully admits to watching "Ultraman" back in the '70s...):o
*sigh*
Thanks Oscarfan...I did try that. Will look again, but it seems as though some XD videos are no longer posted there; a month ago I looked through every single one of them to make sure. Will keep trying.
If anyone knows anything, please let me know?
Part 31
The admitting nurse barely glanced up as two men in white lab coats trotted hastily past the front desk. “Mee mee meep mee?” Beaker asked, tapping Bunsen’s shoulder, looking around bewildered at the multiple corridors and signs in every direction.
“Good point, Beakie!” Bunsen agreed...
Hee, hee, hee....hey Count, was that "Girl in Lover's Lane?"
I just pictured the frondy thing as your typical froo-froo silk plant of indeterminate palm species. As a kid they used to worry me when they rustled and no one was around...
And Muppetfan44, I don't have anything really against...
Part 30
Sometimes, the Newsman didn’t mind being short. It helped, for instance, when one was trying to sneak past nurses’ desks on a closed ward. He waited, blinking around dazedly, trying not to give in to the urge to simply lay down, which was now pulsing pervasively through his entire body...
And here, because absolutely no one asked for it, a special cameo! ...er, yes, that'd be THAT kind of "special"...
Yes, there are more joke references in this, most of which should be fairly obvious; and yes, I have relied on the characterizations others at MC have done for some of the Muppets...
As to future monster attacks...I'm not saying! ;)
BIG Harry Anderson fan here from wayback...I remember his card shark stints on SNL, and (sigh of embarrassment) yes...I watched "Night Court" in its original run... But I haven't seen that ep of "Tales". Sounds fun!
Glad someone caught the...
Does anyone know if somewhat older Disney XD Muppets videos are archived ANYWHERE? I have been all over the Disney site and used every search criteria I could think of, and still am unable to find a few News Flash sketches listed on Muppet Wiki as having been produced for DXD.
If anyone knows...
Hey, I LOOKED through the whole discussion area...no one else had done it!
Argument: Gamera vs Godzilla...or more specifically, Gamera on MST vs Godzilla on MST...you have two minutes for each response...I will track time and allow for rebuttal...GO!
A note regarding both Muppets AND Prog: although I felt the "Muppets Wizard of Oz" was overall a mixed bag, the bit when Dorothy and Pepe step into Munchkinland, and Pepe turns to the camera and tells the viewers if they have "Dark Side of the Moon" to press play...made me lose it completely. :)
The Chichester Theatre production of "Macbeth", with Patrick Stewart. I keep seeing Sam the Eagle as the King, Piggy as Lady M, and Newsie as the Thane of Ross. Not sure about Mac yet... ;)
Part 29
Like the other scattered people in the audience, Rhonda had an intimation something was wrong but didn’t know for certain until an ugly-sounding crash came from the back corner of the theatre and the fire alarm went off. Sprinklers turned on, briefly causing sparks in the gaggle of...
Happy you and the other readers are hanging in there, Count! Thank you. :)
I discovered last night while writing part 31, which I thought was going to be the next-to-the-last chapter, that the characters had other plans...I got who I wanted to the location I wanted and all butternose broke...
Hmm...ya know, I'm about two hours south of you, dwmckim, and I'm not sure I'D go to PHX... :)
A get-together DOES sound fun, though! I'd like to meet a few of you. (Wonder if I could rustle up a tacky plaid jacket by then...? I've got the hair and glasses already...)
