I enjoyed the Chef's song on the new Christmas album, but he was definitely funnier to watch than to listen to. Still, it was very nice to have him on the album, since he is the only muppet I can think of that ALWAYS sang in his skits.
Piggy: (muttering) I do NOT wish to visit that room where a certain person who shall remain nameless lives!
(Kermit and Catherine have one arm a piece, and they are dragging, um, helping Piggy toward the birthday party for Johnny Fiama.)
Catherine: Look, I know it might be a little awkward...
Chapter 46: Some of my best friends are muppet fans....
Robin’s song had been spectacularly well-received this night as well. He strolled off stage, then padded hastily toward the sound booth and the exciting opportunity awaiting him there. Once settled with ear phones draped around his head...
Chapter 5: Pulling Together
(We're, um, at it again--me and Aaron!)
“So the, um, truth of the matter is that, short of a miracle, Gonzo isn’t going to be able to walk again.”
The ring of faces around the table was solemn, subdued. Even Piggy looked somehow smaller, as though deflated by...
Where the heck was I when this started? Geez, I'll have to see what I can do. (Adds to "things to do" list, which is starting to look like an un-rolled roll of toilet paper.)
I'm not joking. It was Gonzo, in TGMC. He is lurking outside the office where Fozzie and Kermit have just been fired, and he hollers "Stop the presses!" When they ask him why, he looks surprised and says, "I just always wanted to say that."
Can we do a NEW QUOTE, please?
Kev, I thought the wig and the nose were about as good as you could hope. The wig was awfully good for the price. What are you doing about ears? (Please let me know if I can help....)
I loved the way that Kermit looks so very vulnerable when he is strung up by the pirates. This is such a, well, costuming thing, but his slim little legs beneath the knickers make him look noble and yet gentlemanly and urbane. Although he certainly frightened and facing certain doom, he exudes...
My Two Cents Worth
Geez, have I been asleep while this thread was going forward without me! There were several things that caught my eye and ear, and I wanted to comment on them.
Jim Henson didn't just operate like a Mom and Pop shop--he was Dad, the man who kept everything running, but...
Sweetness and Cake
Catherine: Hey, guys! Glad to see you came to Big Bird's party after all.
Kermit: Yeah, well, we thought it might be a good idea to get out and mingle a little, you know, with other people. (This is belied by the tight grip Kermit has on Piggy's hand. The fearsome grip...
Ooh! Ooh! I missed this until just now! How exciting! I do love the two-headed Claire--I find that, when picking out an outfit or shoes, most of us of the female persuation feel like two people at once....
And I liked how you owned up to your worries and concerns about starting. It is...
(Piggy and Kermit are sitting beside each other on one of the lime tweed recliners. They are not looking at each other. Piggy looks flustered and upset. Kermit looks dignified and wounded. He lets Piggy hold his hand for a moment, then withdraws from her again.)
Piggy: Kermie, I...Kermie...
I guess I can muffin here for a moment:
I once did a costume called, "Things That Go Bump In the Night" at a little literary science fiction masquerage (costume contest). It was a costume partially inspired by the human-sized muppets that I had grown up with, and partialy inspired by...
I used to do a LOT of sewing for weddings and such. For bridesmaids you have to be able to make lots of different body types all look good in the same dress. Well, not the same dress at the same time...um, well, at the same time, but not in the same dress,,er, that is--it IS the same dress...
My favorite Animal moment has to be from the "Kermit, Unpigged" album. Animal's increasing desperate attempts to get Kermit to "PLUG IN, PLUG IN!" instead of playing "Wild Thing" on a ukulele. Even though it's a non-visual moment, you can "see" what's happening just from the, um, noise.
