A lot of you don't realize that the camera often distorts the way that puppets look in the pictures, especially when you do close up shots. They may look a lot closer in person than they do in these pictures.

I just remembered what I used to use on Crow... bike cables! Instead of using the real cable, though, I'd just use the outside and feed a thin wire all the way down. Once it was through, it was a simple matter to use it as a long thread to feed a piece of string theough there. This might work...
