H.R. Pufnstuf on TV Land soon

You are reading too much You can think this all you want, but you are still wrong. "H.R." is "Royal Highness" (oops...another drug reference!) backwards and Pufnstuf's name was originally "Luther" (I can't find a drug reference). The program was originally going to be called Luther Land...

H.R. Pufnstuf on TV Land soon

Drugs? You are crazy! I watched H.R. Pufnstuf as a child on NBC in the late 60's & early 70's. I loved it from the second I saw the program. I continue to admire this program, and other Krofft productions to this day. Granted the characters are rather odd, but this is a FANTASY program...

    Henson sells Muppets to Disney

I just learn of the news ...and I am not that thrilled. Disney is an evil money worshiping company that will eat The Muppets' souls for breakfast and poop out a poor quality Muppet-clone. This is the end of The Muppets as we knew them. :(

Has anyone else ever wondered this?

Doing it live! And as the folks who perform live will tell you, nothing feels better than hearing the audience laugh and applaud! If they were drugs, I'd be a junkie by now. ;)

Has anyone else ever wondered this?

Do It Yourself I am like Rugby, married, 39 years old, mortgage + many other bills, and planning to start a family this year. However, I have a very strong DiY (do it yourself) attituite towards my creative projects. I got back into puppets in 2001, I hadn't done anything since 1977! I...

My first two puppets-please tell me what you think

Most professional puppeteers will allow you to look at their gear after the show. When Hobey Ford performed in Cincinnati a few years ago, I emailed him in advance to ask if I may look at his puppets & stage. He was so nice, he gave me a free ticket to see the show, invited me back stage, and...

    Copyright questions

Thanks gang Some good input indeed. The public access studio does make it clear that the creator/producer retains all the rights to the work. I even own the video tape after they run the show 6 times. Here's a link to the studio if you are interested: Media Bridges I am still learning...

    Copyright questions

This year I plan to produce a short public access tv show using my own puppets/scripts/music. I would like to protect my work by copyrighting it. Has anyone on the board done this with their creations? I do not have lots of money to hire a lawyer and would like to know if there is an...

    What characters have you created?

Giving characters "character" All my puppets start out on a sketch pad. I doodle various ideas until one clicks with me. Then I bounce the idea off my wife, and get her feedback since she is very good at suggesting ways to improve on my doodles. After the puppet is built I play around...

What type of puppetry is your favorite?

Hands Up! I like working hand/glove puppets since I feel that I can make them "come alive" more than other styles of puppets. I enjoy watching marionettes, although I am not very good with the control stick. :p

    Puppets on Public Access TV

Hello everyone! I have been taking classes at our public access tv studio in Cincinnati in preparation to produce my own TV puppet show. I have a few scripts written, and many design sketches for the puppets & sets. My project for the winter months is to build the "cast" (9-10 puppets) and...

    Greg the Bunny...

Greg on DVD? Has anyone heard any news about GtB on DVD? I would bet that chances are pretty good that it will be released someday, since studios are seeing that they can make money from canceled TV shows.

    O'Neill Puppetry Conference

I have read about the conference, and know someone who has attended one a few years ago. Have any Muppet Central boarders attended? I am thinking of going next year. http://www.oneilltheatercenter.org/prog/puppet/puppprog.htm

    Puppeteers of America Festival

Boo Hoo I can't attend. The biggest reason is that I can't afford it. I plan to go to the Great LAkes Region Potlatch weekend in November. Our guild (Cincinnati) is looking into hosting a P of A event in the future.
