    ABC officially cancels "The Muppets"

I don't think you should feel awful or bad for being skeptical or even disliking the show. 98% percent of the "negative" comments here in this forum I believe were from Muppet fans who either believed the show could be better or that it just did not connect with them. My friends on social media...

    ABC officially cancels "The Muppets"

I don't see why Chip wouldn't be included. Dave Goelz has commented that he really enjoys the character. I guess it would depend on the form and format of their next project. I would also imagine Walter being around. He's Peter Linz's main character, so unless they really want to boost...

    ABC officially cancels "The Muppets"

I apologize in advance for what I assume will be a lengthy and rambling comment. I have read through the pages of comments and some posters I want to hug, some I want to chide, some I want to correct and some I know are right even if I wish they were not. A few bold statements first. The...

    Favorite Muppet Show Episode

My favorite is Steve Martin Best over all plot/use of guest: John Cleese Best closing number: Pearl Bailey Best use of Muppets as silly and fun/meaningful and social conscience: Harry Belafonte All of these are, of course, just my opinion. There are close seconds for all of them as well. ;-)

Video: Electric Mayhem at Outside Lands 2016

In the past they have always pre-recorded the singing as the puppetry is pretty physically taxing in and of itself. Dialogue they usually do live. In the documentary Of Muppets and Men there is some great footage of the group recording the singing of In the Navy and then later footage of them...

Video: Electric Mayhem at Outside Lands 2016

I am guessing Dave and Steve weren't available for the filming.

What made Bobo work better than Beauregard?

I think they did use Beau pretty well in the original Muppet Show. He had the main plot in the last episode filmed: The End of the World. And aside from being the janitor he was a stage hand with Beaker with typical results - both of them tangled in the fly system in Another Opening Another...

Characters, Scenes and Stories you'd like to see on ABC's "The Muppets"

Actually in re-reading your post you mention Piggy opens up to Lips. Piggy certainly can talk. Lips may have just a few lines in the scene and she monologues about her birthday/bad mood. She may feel a bond with Lips not so much because they had a conversation, but because he listened to her...

Characters, Scenes and Stories you'd like to see on ABC's "The Muppets"

A couple of folks have mentioned wanting Lips to have a larger role. One of the things I like about Lips is how little we know about him. Zoot used to be this way. In fact he was this way until this current series where he speaks as much as all the other characters. Dave Goelz has said that...

Characters, Scenes and Stories you'd like to see on ABC's "The Muppets"

JP Grosse was dead for the one Christmas movie as a plot device. The Muppets have played fast and loose with their "cannon" many times. They especially like to play the "Well that mas just a movie/TV Show card", so he could easily come back.

RED ALERT! "The Muppets" fans need to contact ABC **NOW**!!

Here's the situation as I see it. It is still possible although unlikely the show will be renewed. So in order of likeliness the options are: 1. The show is renewed either for 12 or 22 episodes 2. The show is renewed as a "limited event" series with 6-10 episodes 3. The show is renewed as a...

    The Muppets SPOILER Thread

Very good question. I am guessing they were conceived as two separate episodes. (Maybe not) But I am also curious how we go from episode 15 to episode 16.

    The Muppets SPOILER Thread

I think your second point might be more the case. If they can use the commercial time to make some profit that's more appealing then promoting a show that has pretty much levelled off on its ratings. An ad may not bring in more viewers. I do know Jack White (guest star in the last episode)...

The Muppets Episode 14 - Little Green Lie

I would welcome an Archie Bunker type to TV. A well-written, well-performed character whose beliefs are almost 100% opposite of mine. And pair him with a handful of equally well-written, well-performed characters who often prove Archie wrong. And once in a great while Archie scores a victory...

The Muppets Episode 14 - Little Green Lie

Was it ever stated Scooter was 14? Not meant as a challenge I just don't remember an age assigned to him. I know he was young (and in general younger than the others). I always assumed (perhaps wrongly) he was 16-18. Old enough to have a job and probably be through school - that was never...

The Muppets Episode 14 - Little Green Lie

I will attempt an answer. Based on the fact they were drinking milkshakes I wonder if Rowlf's tavern is like a TGIF (not a chain though) but with a bar and a restaurant together. We have not seen scripted proof of this, but I don't think Kermit and Piggy took him to Moe's Tavern.

The Muppets Episode 14 - Little Green Lie

I know that no one was being catty or mean commenting on the change in Robin's voice, but I do want to make a post to re-iterate that this is the first time in decades Robin has had this much dialogue. Matt has done wonders with a lot of Jerry's characters. He does a great job of having enough...

The Muppets Episode 14 - Little Green Lie

I was very pleased with the episode. A while back I mentioned Robin being a good character to bridge to on screen and behind the scene stories. I anxiously await my check. Hmm. But seriously. Wonderful to see Robin. The voice will take some time, but the puppetry was great and we will get...

    The Muppets SPOILER Thread

Piggy not remembering Gonzo et al was a big joke in the pitch pilot which was not meant to be seen by fans and I think is a bit of an isolated story to show the executives the possibilities. It is, however, true that in the first episode Piggy on the phone with Fozzie is very dismissive of him...

    The Muppets SPOILER Thread

Yay! It's Robin. Yup the voice is different. I know Robin has had a line here or there (at best), so I know it is in Matt Vogel's wheelhouse, but maybe with this much dialogue it sounds different? In the end, for me, it doesn't matter so much. I am happy to see him back. I loved the clip...
