Fan Poll: Favorite Muppet Christmas Production

I do plan on giving it another try. And Gonzo and Rizzo were definitely a high point of The Muppet Christmas Carol, right from the opening sequence (Gonzo: "I am here to share the classic story of A Christmas Carol." Rizzo: "And *I* am here for da food!"). That launched a great character...

Fan Poll: Favorite Muppet Christmas Production

I can't believe I'm answering this over five months after Christmas, but that's Muppet fandom for you... :) I agree with a couple of fellow MC members that Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas ought to be part of this poll. It's a Henson production (regardless of whether Kermit's in the edition...

The Muppets at "Just For Laughs" in Montreal, July 12-29, 2012

This has been a great year to be a Canadian Muppet fan - Kermit plugged The Muppets on George Stromboulopoulos Tonight and Q (from the TV and radio arms of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, respectively), and Q also interviewed Oscar the Grouch, discovering in the process that Oscar's...

The Muppets at "Just For Laughs" in Montreal, July 12-29, 2012

THE MUPPETS AT JUST FOR LAUGHS?!?! That's so freaking incredible I can barely see straight when I think about it!!! And I'm only a few provinces away (living in Nova Scotia and all)... Hmmm...I wonder if my boss would notice if I suddenly didn't show up for three days at the end of July...

    Happy Birthday to Kermit TODAY!

Happy birthday, old friend. Thank you (and your friends Jim and Steve) for brightening up my life and so many others over the past 57 years.

What's the most FUN episode of The Muppet Show?

Even when I made the separation between "most fun" and "favourite" in my brain (not as easy as you might think), I came up with the following: Kaye Ballard: The Electric Mayhem threatens to quit because they find the theme song square, so Floyd writes a new one, which Kermit hates, leading the...

    Best Vet's Hospital Sketch...

I have a few favourites - the aforementioned "DUCK!" episode from Season One, the Christopher Reeve edition with Rowlf as the patient, the one from the Gene Kelly episode with the announcer crashing into the OR at the end, and the one from the Buddy Rich episode with Beauregard as the patient...

    Favorite Theatarical Muppet Movie

I know The Muppet Movie is the runaway leader here (and I voted for it as well) but I can't tell you how happy I am to see the votes spread around, and I'm overjoyed that The Muppets is second (so far) in this poll. It's third on my personal list (behind TMM and GMC) and I think it's a wonderful...

Is there an overrated/underrated Muppet production?

Underrated: The Muppets Go To The Movies (we really need a special like this to keep the Muppets in the public eye before the next movie is released), The Jim Henson Hour (especially Dog City and its eventual animated spin-off), Muppets Tonight (which occasionally had bigger laughs than TMS...

The Muppets win four 2012 Webby Awards

Right on! Hopefully this will result in more Muppet virals! (Don't just wait for the next wave of promotions for the new movie...Strike while the iron's hot!!!)

New Muppet movie in development for potential 2013 release

Oh, don't get me wrong, Cindy - I love nostalgia, and I loved that The Muppets had so many great nods to the TMS days, as well as two of their first three movies. I think it was the right tone to take for Disney's official cinematic relaunch of the franchise, and a lot of those moments are going...

What was the last Henson thing you watched?

Had a bad stomach virus today, so I consoled myself with three Season 1 episodes of The Muppet Show on DVD (Valerie Harper, Twiggy and Ethel Merman, the last of which was even better than I remembered...she looked like she was having a blast!).

New Muppet movie in development for potential 2013 release

I'll happily take "The Muppets Peace," as long as it doesn't have a cameo by Metta World Peace... ;) Seriously, though, I'm delighted Disney is already giving this such a push. I really hope, though, this is just a placeholder title and that they're not promoting it as an outright sequel to...

What was the last Henson thing you watched?

This might be cheating a little bit since "reading" isn't exactly the same as "watching" but I have really been enjoying my latest look at the Before You Leap book. It's a wonderful blend of great writing, terrific photos, and an overall feel-good tone that fits perfectly with Kermit's...

New Muppet movie in development for potential 2013 release

Regarding "take-charge Kermit": The Muppets as a franchise are proof of the value of a great writing team, and I think this will be the true challenge for Bobin and Stoller in the next movie, since they won't be able to rely on Muppet fans' nostalgia nearly as much as they did for the previous...

New Muppet movie in development for potential 2013 release

All right, before getting into the nitty gritty, I'll suggest that there's only so much obsessing to be done over details, plot, music and character screen time before we step back and recognize that no matter what happens with any of these things... WE'RE GETTING ANOTHER MUPPET MOVIE...

Your Thoughts: The Muppets Original Soundtrack

Yeah, the score would have been nice to have, particularly the reworked "Pictures In My Head" as the Muppets leave the theatre, or even the peppier bits like the "Muppet Man" and "Kidnapping Jack Black" music. I was pleasantly surprised when those last two music sequences (as well as an...

What was the last Henson thing you watched?

Interesting to see MTM on a few people's "just-watched" lists...That's on one of our Canadian cable channels tomorrow morning and, while MTM isn't one of my favourite Muppet movies, I think I would actually consider getting up at 7 a.m. on a Sunday morning to watch it, if said channel (Bravo)...

That was awesome - capturing both the personality of the various Muppet characters and the loveable fanboy qualities of Walter. Thanks for sharing!

What was the last Henson thing you watched?

So, seriously, WeirdoGirl, I've been fighting off watching It's A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie (which my wife got for me on DVD this past Christmas) - I'm trying to be good and wait for NEXT Christmas but I really liked that movie so it's been difficult...I'm glad to see a few other people...
