Singing Christmas Kermit & Piggy at Walgreen's

I just gotta ask, is it too hard to call Steve up on the phone and have him do it there? I started playing it in the store while buying candy for trick-r-treaters, and my friend didn't understand why I cringed and shoved it behind all the others in an attempt to muffle the sound.

    Sesame Street Stays Up Late

I'd never even heard of this! Too cool! Thanks, Oscarfan!

Favorite non-Henson puppet shows growing up

I watched Eureka's Castle and Puzzle Place, but I don't remember them very well. I only remember one episode of Puzzle Place where they all had donuts, but one of them - a girl - couldn't pick which she wanted. And it was a really big deal. I got pretty invested. I don't think I ever found out...

If some Muppets had theme songs

Rowlf - "Johnsburg, Illinois" by Tom Waits. Don't really know why, but you could definitely hear him singing it.

New Regency Lands ‘Fraggle Rock’ Feature Rights Auction

Brian would, absolutely. He understands and loves the characters and the world. If you're a fan of the Whedonverse, check out his canonical "Season 6" run of Angel comics - he completely gets how to play in other creators' worlds.

    Underrated Movies

I think both of you will enjoy this. There's a series of articles a guy named Drew McWeeny writes called "Film Nerd 2.0" where he and his 6-and-3-year-old boys watch movies from his youth. He waited a while to get them on Star Wars and now they're five movies in, with just Jedi left. These...

    Underrated Movies

I believe that the Star Wars prequels have some enormously redeemable qualities. I still enjoy watching them.

If some Muppets had theme songs

I think I see it, but that song is wayyy too morose. Even for Gonzo. That's Sad Kermit territory right there.

New Regency Lands ‘Fraggle Rock’ Feature Rights Auction

My advice for them - hire Brian Lynch. The guy is writing some really successful, fun kids movies right now (Hop and Puss in Boots), and is a die-hard Muppet fan. His script for The New Muppet Movie was super fun, and he would knock a Fraggle movie out of the park.

New Regency Lands ‘Fraggle Rock’ Feature Rights Auction

    The "G" is right above the "B" - it's a typo.

Competition: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn

I guess we've just got a difference of opinion - I happened to think Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was one of the most charming movies to come out that year. g to be what you expect, and I've never found any magic in the expected. As for Aardman/Sony's previous effort, Flushed Away, I did...

Competition: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn

That's pretty harsh... Aardman is a GREAT company. One of the few film studios, like Pixar, who continue to produce consistent, quality work.

    Trailer of the day

Here's a great six-and-a-half-minute trailer for Psycho, with Mr. Hitchcock himself walking us through some of the film's locations. The 1950s sitcom score adds a touch of incongruity.

Your Favorite TV Show: The Movie

I would say I have no idea how you could do that... but I'll be honest, I've been thinking about it since the show ended. Spoilers ahoy if you haven't seen the last episode of LOST... Basically, it's a relaunch of The A-Team. Sawyer is our leader, Alpert is the wise, sagely ex-immortal, Miles...

    The Missing Link Hogthrob

I missed him on Muppets Tonight. Piggy made a good captain, but for her character's sake, I've always loved her playing the big star coerced into the supporting female, à la "Pigs in Space" and "Veterinarian's Hospital."

17 Things Kermit has done that are worse than living in a mansion.

Something else Kermit has done that's worse than living in a mansion - let Alice Cooper on the show. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Alice fan and I love that episode, but he KNEW Alice was handing out deals with the devil, and he let it go on! That's just not safe.

"The Muppets" Final Parody Trailer On-line

I think he meant, he knew he'd spoil it for himself. What I want to know is, why is Gary holding that one rat. And also, I have to know about Rowlf's wardrobe. Like, that hat he wears in that one part of the first full trailer, and also the suit he wears during the Telethon. When did Rowlf...
