Yeah, that's very often what it means.
When Toy Story was being developed, Jeffrey Katzenberg (he was at Disney at the time) was a big fan of "edgy" which meant "adult", characters who were smart alecs, almost on the edge of insult humor.
Pixar kept getting notes from Disney, and Pixar would do...
I agree with you, I love Cars.
John Lasseter is the executive producer of Tangled, so I'm trying to have faith in that film.
Incidentally, John Lasseter became the chief creative officer at Disney Animation in 2007, and has been the executive producer of every Disney animated film since then.
The very fact that the Weinstien company wants the film to be "edgy" makes me very nervous.
This is a film that has to be handled very delicately.
I would rather have no Fraggle Movie then a horrible "edgy" one.
Almost every animated film goes through developmental problems. They just aren't always publicized.
Sometimes the powers at be just ignore them and go full speed ahead (like what happened with Warner Bros' Quest For Camelot) or they take the time to fix them.
Its not always a bad thing when...
I really don't think its fair to make so many assumptions about this.
Its been said that there will be emotion in this film.
I seem to remember hearing that John Lasseter was inspired by a promotional trip he took to Europe, and he imagined how Mater would react in foreign situations.
I have...
I don't care what anyone says, I loved Cars and I'm looking forward to this. This looks like it will be a fun film.
This is Pixar, they will not allow a film to get released if it has story problems.
Pixar does not just make films for kids, there is always something that everyone can enjoy.
I...
I've been out of the loop with this thread for a while, but I have to say that I have serious doubts that the Fraggle Rock movie will ever happen. And quite frankly, I'm not sure if I think that's bad news or good news...
Yes, it would be awesome to see a Fraggle movie with great production...
I'm assuming that the film will be rated G or perhaps PG.
I actually think its an interesting idea to have the "Muppet Studios" down on its luck.
The set dressing looks great!
True, though a lot of people seem to like the trailer.
Even if the film doesn't make huge amounts of money, it will still most likely be generally well received.
I commented on this earlier, I said it was cool. :)
I think that its for the the best that there are no Sesame Street cameos. Again, it would just confuse things and blur the line too much.
Too many people already assume that The Muppet Show characters are just supposed to be cute and...
Yes, this looks just like a classic Pooh film.
At the D23 Expo last year, John Lasseter said that the film is going to feel like a classic Pooh film, and they are using source material from the original A.A. Milne stories that has not yet been tapped into. He also stressed that the film is...
That's nonsense. Its a shame that there is still that perception around.
The Muppet Show characters have always had an adult sense of humor, and are intended for a broad audience, not just kids.
All the more reason why I'm very glad that Kermit does not appear on Sesame Street anymore. There...
