When I as a kid, I used to love the Roosevelt Franklin Elementary School Sketches! I thank everyone who posted some of the old sketches on youtube.com, & I look forward to possibly seeing more of them in the upcoming "Old School" box set!
I do have some questions, though.
1) Several...
I remember the caveman sketches, they began in the very early 70's, and finally peetered out in the late 80's or early 90's.
They usually involved 3 to 4 muppet characters led by their king (usually played by Ernie), who relied on their "Royal Smart Person" (usually played by Sherlock Hemlock)...
I remember that sketch! It was all about his emotions, & he called them his "me's" ( a happy me, a sad me, a proud me, etc.).
At the end of the sketch the boy (it was a boy) goes outside to play, and he wishes that "you and all your "you's" have fun too!", and as each of his emotions leave...
Sorry, but I had to do a double post!
A moment in Sesame Street history that still puts me in a sombre state, was when I realized that Big Bird wasn't mispronouncing Hooper's Store anymore!
He continued to mispronounce it for a while after Mr. Hooper's passing, & when he stopped it...
After reading the thread about Mr. Hooper's final episodes on Sesame Street before his unfortunate passing, I though it might be nice to share some of our favorite Mr. Hooper memories.
These are mine.
1) During the season when the cast of SS went to Hawaii, the cast somehow convinced Mr...
I was just on youtube.com, & saw a video clip called "Maria Tells Her Life Story", wherein Maria tells Big Bird a story about all the jobs she's held since she graduated from high school.
The very first job she said she had showed a flashback clip of Maria working in a small library that later...
I have collected several (if not most) of the busts made in the likenesses of our favorite muppets, but there is one bust I can't seem to find & no one I speak to seems to be able to confirm that it exists....
Sgt. Floyd Pepper!!!!
Was a bust of Floyd ever made???? One person I speak to says...
Does anyone remember the 70's video wherein David & Maria are supposed to meet at a park bridge for a "date", but David waits on the bridge, & Maria waits on a path under the bridge! Throughout the video, both David & Maria think "Maybe he/she's is waiting on/under the bridge", but when they go...
Yes, Big Bird is & has been six years old for about 39 years now! LOL!
If I'm not mistaken, Mr. Snuffleupagus (AKA- "Snuffy", AKA- "Aloysius") is still 4 years old!
Same with me! I was particularly taken with the dancer who's hair was pulled into a kind of ponytail (the second girl to get "bumped off"). For some reason, I had a thing for girls with ponytails when I was a kid!
Another thing that springs to mind about that particular dancer, was as she was...
If I had to guess what fates befell these muppet animals, these would be them!
1) I believe Oscar the Grouch adopted Wolfgang the seal! Think about this now! Oscar already had a vast assortment of pets (a worm, at least one elephant, possibly a hippo & a warthog, a seal would seem like an...
No, that skit's called "Gimme Five!", starring David, Bob, Gordon, & Luis.
The sketches in question involve five female dancers, dressed up like the Rockettes!
