The "article" is anti-FOX News (hence it being a joke), the video is not.
Sometimes I can't believe the things that are on that network. Everytime you think they top themselves, they just end up doing something more ridiculous. I'd find it hilarious if people didn't use it as an actual news source.
But the fact is that in the Muppets world they aren't puppets, they're Muppets. They're seen as weird people, not puppets.
This is the only time someone in an official Muppet production actively referred to them as puppets.
I tried watching Oz the other night since the first time I saw it six years ago (which I mostly blocked out of my memory) and I couldn't get through the first fifteen minutes. It was awful, pure trash. The "gritty" music video, blatant sexploitation of Ashanti, and David Allan Grier mentioning...
When I was three my grandparents took me to see Snow White in the theaters, I couldn't handle it and starting screaming. Guess what they did? Took me out of the theater.
When I have kids, I'll instruct them that on proper theater behavior and take them when they're old enough, four or five...
See, the whole "hey, not bad for a franchise that was considered dead!" argument rather falls flat for me. "The Smurfs", despite the 3D, skyrocketed over 100 million; "Alvin and the Chipmunks" is of course a similar case. Both of these are aging franchises that, while respected, were considered...
I saw the movie again today. Sadly the audience was quite muted except for a vocal bunch in the front row, only a few jokes got everybody in theater cracking up.
I forgot how much the movie relies on 80's references. Not that it's a bad thing, but it's strange to consider how Segel and Stoller...
The best news is that "The Muppets", no matter how you look at it, is not a flop. So while there may not be any films on the near horizon (or total Muppet overdrive), I forsee a special and other various projects greenlit very soon.
The franchise certainly is not dead.
Well... it's not exactly 56 destinations as it is 56 ride combinations, but I don't want to give too much away! The queue area is an update of the old one, all new and shiny but the same basic thing. I vaguely recall a Muppet reference actually in one part, but that could be a faulty memory...
1. The Tron Legacy attraction at DHS was cancelled due to the mediocre BO performance of the film domestically. However, there's going to be a Tron attraction at the new Singapore Disneyland.
2. Bats Day is unofficial, yes.
3. I'm very much betting the refilming of the MV3D pre-show was a rumor...
The "bad news" isn't that Twilight is number one, it's that the Muppets slipped 77% and has proven, despite the modest opening, that it was frontloaded. It will only accumulate a whole of 55 million this weekend, and as the weeks tick on, with Chipmunks (sigh) looming to destroy this picture...
Well, it is the CW of course. And the fact that it was their highest rated Wednesday... in years. The fact is that the ratings got boosted by the fact that the movie is doing so well.
There was a Muppets performance in the studios presentation, and of course people got a chance to meet Gonzo, Fozzie and... still can't remember the third Muppet after the panel, but the wait was tremendous. People were taking their sweet time. (don't blame them)
"Cheapest" was another script...
I went to D23 09, and yes, I went to the Muppets panel. (I did not wait the incredible 2 hour wait afterward to personally meet Fozzie, Gonzo and... I can't remember the other Muppet at the moment) In retrospect, it was quite a disappointment. Except for merchandise, literally every single...
This week. Next week, all of the box office analysts are predicting (since literally no other films are debuting) that "The Muppets" will take the top spot with a lofty 16 million. So it could actually become the "#1 movie in America". Wow. Words can't surmise how incredible that would be. A...
