Well, it really shows the love for the art form these people have; it's very admirable, when someone puts so much effort into making these characters to come alive and create a truly incredible performance. It prolly takes a whoooole lotta cooperation and versatility amongst all the puppeteers...
Something that Rick Lyon talks about on his website is that if you wanna be a puppeteer, you have to be a good performer, a good actor, and a good singer. This was Jim Henson's legacy; he set the standard for puppetry. Truly respecting the art means WORKING HAARD. He literally sez to "practice...
Daw, I just knew they'd beat it to death. It's something that seems to happen a lot to animations especially. Sequels kinda ruin the movies they were based on, too. Trequels are WORSE!:grouchy:
I think it depends on the kind of puppet you want to make: if it's a sophisticated sock-puppet design(like Kermit, who has a flexible mouth)I'd suggest something flexible yet sturdy as the base, and attach a felt inner mouth design via spray glue, inconspicuous sewing, and the like. For other...

It is on YouTube, but that ain't what ur lookin fer. Didja try looking for Sesame Street songs on iTunes or LimeWire, etc? I heard there's a "platinum album" of SS songs somewhere over the rainbow, but those albums aren't guaranteed to have ur faves on them. Sry I am not much help, but I hope u...
I was just thinking of how to make puppet scars! I'd try a slighty upraised area of "skin" with a thin sliver of skin-tone, glossy fabric sewn onto the face. But I am just conjecturing. The other replies seem much more experienced!:o
If you read some of the interviews with Mr. Lyon on his Ave Q puppet color choices, it may be a big help. He chose the colors he did for many character reasons, like Trekkie and Kate's fur color (both are brown so as to identify their Monster heritage, but Trekkie is more raucous and wild than...
D'Snowth MUST read the big, fuzzy orange "AVENUE Q" Book! It says everything u wanna know bout the process of approval Ave. Q went through. And, since Rick Lyon was Jim Henson's apprentice, he probably had an advantage in the process.
There's nothing like a well-made song meant for us as kids that can also appeal to us when we've grown up. Sesame Street has had many memorable songs like these. Which ones do you remember- and love- the most?
For moi? It's "Dance the Batty Bat." Hands down! :batty:
