I have a few more of these now if you're interested? :-)
There was even a TMS one...which would have been more impressive if a) someone hadn't filled in two-thirds of the answers, and b) two of those answers hadn't been wrong...
Ok, answers found :-)
"Alvin and the Chipmunks" has been mis-spelt as "Alvin and the Chipmonks".
"Dastardly and Muttley in their Flying Machines" was both mis-spelt and abbreviated to "Dastardly and Mutley".
#38 is a show called "The Raccoons".
Not quite true. Doctor Who and Dad's Army were recorded on videotape, with film used for location work, effects shots and the occasional piece of studio work where the sets were too large for the TV studios in use at the time and had to be shot at Ealing. The final programmes were edited on...
Film is much harder to repair than videotape, mate! I know whereof I speak, I do this kind of work. "Fraggle Rock" was made on Quad, although modern copies may be on Betacam. Given the choice, I'd go back to the original Quad tapes, but finding a working Quad machine is pretty hard these...
Still does, unfortunately. And a "megabyte" is usually defined as 1,000,000 bytes rather than the (correct) 1,048,576 bytes.
I'm holding off for a little longer before committing myself. At present, only DVD+R technology is available, and I'd like to see DVD-R as well. And I'd expect...
Not quite true :-) A single layer holds 4.7 billion bytes. But in computer terms a gigabyte is 2^30, not 10^9, so a single layer actually holds approximately 4.37GB and a dual-layer disc holds 8.75GB. This is extremely important to remember if you're making a disc - there is nothing more...
With respect Rick, it's not quite as complicated as all that ;-) Certainly there's a good deal of work involved, but there is no reason why it needs to take a year to do. I could -and have - produced a set of that scale in under six months, and that's a) in my spare time, and b) using consumer...
Ok, there are several questions here :-)
Most PAL video players and DVD players can play NTSC tapes, correct. However, they don't output 'pure' NTSC - instead, they output a hybrid signal called PAL60. (Some high-end players can be set to output pure NTSC as well.) This signal is...
In order for a US player to play PAL discs, it has to have a standards-converter chip. These are not that cheap! Hence, players with them are not common. More common than they used to be, but there still isn't a huge demand for the things.
There is no such thing as 'Region 0' or...
Not Disney, no - Cosgrove Hall. The show is "Count Duckula".
To be fair, most of the shows pictured were produced in the UK. I honestly don't know how many were exported successfully.
Yeah, I know! I can't place it either. The other gaps I have are: 6, 14, 15, 17, 25, 26, 32, 46, 48 and 49.
I *know* that #49 is "Dastardly and Muttley in their Flying Machines" (or possibly "Wacky Races"), but again none of the possible mis-spellings I've tried work. I recognise #15 and...
I've tried all the various titles "Alvin & the Chipmunks" went under, and none of them match. I don't know what the author of this quiz believes it's called!
By "Duck Tales", I assume you mean #40? Nope...
