I'd say Fozzie's transformation after Season One was pretty drastic. He went from this dark brown dopey lookin' thing to rounder faced, tighter, lighter brown/orange, cute and cuddly.
I think I'm a combination of...
Gonzo - I am a weirdo. Always have been. I have some pretty weird mannerisms, and I'm passionate about certain things that most people just don't understand (my Muppet obsession, for one :D).
Fozzie - I love to make people laugh, and some people actually do...
I third that. Elmo is quite cute, especially in the 80's/early 90's sketches. My personal favorites are "One Fine Face" with Ernie (featured in "The Best of Elmo", which, I agree, is a very cute video) and the post office sketch with Kermit.
Here are a select few Muppet moments that make me go "awwww";
- Muppet Babies sequence from MTM.
- The wedding scene, of course, from MTM.
- "Halfway Down the Stairs"
- "Two Lost Souls" (Robin poking his head out from under Sweetums' arm at the end is adorable).
- Jean Stapleton and Fozzie...
Big Bird
I like the late 80's Big Bird, where his neck is skinnier and his feathers don't look as disheveled.
Ernie
MF: I second 1971 Ernie as my favorite. I like his expression and the shape of his head.
LF: Do the new "Great Adventures" clay-mation figures count? Yuck!
Bert
MF: The first...
The Great Muppet Caper just sort of flew over my five-year-old head. I did not get the whole "breaking the fourth wall" thing at all. I remember whenever Kermit said to Piggy, "We have to get back to the movie, though..." after their on-screen quarrel, I thought, what's going on? Are they going...
Quick question. Who performed that penguin that Brian Henson built in the 'Lullaby of Broadway' number in episode 304 of TMS? I feel like I should recognize the voice, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
You cross paths with your crush and "Never Before, Never Again" pops into your head.
You become extremely disgusted and offended when someone refers to a Muppeteer as a "voice actor".
Hm. Now that I think about it, I really don't remember very many street plots. I guess I watched Sesame Street for the "commercials". Here are the very few I can come up with off the top of my head:
- Slimey lands on the moon.
- Sloppy is born in Oscar's taxi.
- Elmo conquers his fear of...
Oh, wow. Where do I begin?
- Bert is "It".
- "Dee, Dee, Dee"
- "La, La, La"
- Ernie impersonating Bert when he's home alone.
- "Dance Myself to Sleep"
- "Bert's Blanket"
- "I Gotta Be Clean"
- "Do De Rubber Duck"
- "Would You Like to Buy an O"
- Brad's bath (isn't Brad just the...
In the sketch where Grover is attempting to sell Kermit earmuffs, I can't help but crack up when Kermit snaps, "I don't want any earmuffs, Grover!" and Grover screams back, "WHY NOOOT?"
I have a friend who does an almost spot-on Don Music impression, and he uses that line all the time. Cracks me up!
Don definitely makes me laugh the most out of all the Sesame Street characters. Mary Had a Bicycle is my favorite of his skits, no question about it.
"Well, uh, they go 'BAH'...
