I was watching a few episodes from season two this week and I was struck by just how much Timmy Monster's design changed between the Bernadette Peters ep and the Julie Andrews one. A new facial look, plus the addition of a tail. That's some serious plastic surgery going on there!
But then, when investigating the topic on Muppet Wiki, I learned that his season one appearance was different again. So I popped in the DVD with the Ben Vereen ep to have a look. In that one, Timmy has eyes on stalks and some kind of weird plastic glasses. I know a lot of Muppets went through various tweeks before they became the characters we know and love ( Gonzo and Piggy being good examples ) but has any other character gone through as drastic a physical change as Timmy?

I'd say Fozzie's transformation after Season One was pretty drastic. He went from this dark brown dopey lookin' thing to rounder faced, tighter, lighter brown/orange, cute and cuddly.
