Bear arrives on Disney+ The beloved series has been off the air for the past 15 years. Now all four seasons are finally available for a whole new generation.
I would like to point out that when the DVD comes out December 4th, one of the bonus features will be a commentary by Brian Henson and Bill Barretta! Even the people who weren't crazy about the movie, you gotta admit that makes the DVD worth buying. For instance, I'm not really a fan of the Dark...
It took some setting up of an HBO Go account, but I finally watched the episode. The best part of the street story was the return of Gladys and Ryan's performance as Elmo trying to one-up Abby. The replacement for Kindness Cam is a little odd. The new Abby segment is okay. I don't know how I...
They're both still Henson puppeteers though. They both had speaking roles in Happytime Murders and Drew participated in the Muppets' concerts at the Hollywood Bowl and the O2 Arena.
Keep in mind, ever since they announced the new Muppet Babies, Steve was worried it was gonna be terrible.
JD Hansel: So there's a new Muppet Babies series that airs on Friday mornings on the Disney Channel. Have you seen this, Steve?
Steve Swanson: You know what's funny? I know what you think...
I forgot to mention that. It is nice that Guy still has that deep voice when he sings. Also I really liked the songs in the special. Since they were written by Broadway composers, they were able to show just how good the puppeteers can sing. Also, how funny was it to see Chris talk in Elmo's voice?
I really liked the special! My favorite plotlines were Ernie's wish for Bert to be on TV and Elmo and Chris switching places, especially when Chris ended up in Elmo's World.
I thought it was funny how everyone had their own ideas for the play, including Animal wanted to be a good wolf. I think the Card Shark is the first title card that doesn't have one of the core characters. I liked how the octopus they were so afraid of turned out to be friendly.
I liked it. The bit where the women's kids just wanted to keep talking to Big Bird, Elmo, Grover, Cookie and Abby was sweet. The funniest parts of the live interview was Big Bird saying "I'm 6, so I guess that's how long I've been there." And Elmo trying to say hello to the TV audience and...
Honestly, if Stephanie had taken over Zoe instead, people would still complain about the voice being different. And that's because Zoe's voice was kinda close to Fran's natural voice. When a performer inherits a character who's voice was close to the original performer's voice, it gets difficult...
Caroll didn't provide voices in any of the new material for Season 48, which is why this article got taken out of the sandbox: https://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Caroll_Spinney_character_transitions
So this is disappointing: Until Dish and HBO come to an agreement, I no longer get the HBO channels. So now I'm gonna have to go up to my mom's room to watch the new primetime Sesame special.
JD Hansel: The biggest thing that happened since our last show is actually something that we mentioned on a recent podcast, but we mentioned it too soon, which is Caroll Spinney's retirement. I mentioned in a previous show, that Caroll was retiring from Sesame Street, because I heard it on...
Kevin Clash: I was thrown Elmo, I was given Elmo.
Joey Mazzarino: Don't give it away, it's in the movie!
Kevin: Yeah, it's in the movie, I'm sorry.
Matt Vogel: Spoiler alert!
Joey: No, go ahead and tell them. Save them 5 bucks.
Matt: 5 dollars?
Joey: 15 dollars worth is 1983. (they laugh) The...
Those retirement party videos are great. Big Bird's reaction to Caroll talking to him in his Big Bird voice was the best: "Hi, Big Bird! That feels weird."
