I grew up on Sesame Street, (not literally, of course) so I was instantly hooked on the Muppet characters. I was a loner growing up, so SS and later The Muppet Show along with Fraggle Rock and all of the Muppet or Henson produced movies became an escape from the real world.
I could also relate...
I met Gordon 3
I always liked Roscoe Orman best, but Matt Robinson is the original, so he deserves to be praised as well.
Just as a side note...in the summer of 1991 I went to a now closed amusement park in Rhode Island called "Rocky Point" where on this day, Roscoe was giving a sort of...
Spike Milligan kept dropping his pants on the Muppet Show while the muppets sang "It's A Small World". Spike would show underwear with diferent flag prints (from differnet countries) and I clearly remember Lenny The Lizard wearing a Native American headdress.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but Sammy The Snake put the fear of God in me when I was little.
I feared snakes (and still do) as it was...then I see this purple headed snake in a dark room singing about the letter S, not to mention the fact that the clip began with this...
All of the Kermit and Grover bits in the early days cracked me up, Jim and Frank just had such a chemistry. The Ernie and Bert bits too, especailly the Sandbox game ("I 1 the sandbox, etc...)
Great stuff!!
In no particular order, my favorites are:
Mark Hamill (Foreshadowing Muppets & Star Wars getting involved w/Disney)
Alice Cooper (One of my childhood heroes)
Mummenschanz (Mind blowing as a child!!)
Harry Belafonte (Very spiritual expirience)
John Cleese (Hilarious episode...I'm a big...
Everyone has made some great suggestions, I too would like to see R2 and 3PO...I also want more "Mad Painter" skits with Paul Benedict, those were always some of my favorites.
"Going For A Ride" is my all-time favorite song besides "Being Green"...I hope that one makes it to DVD as well.
Here are some I would have liked to have seen, especially in the 70's:
Village People (they'd fit right in)
KISS (good follow up to Alice Cooper)
Barry White (can't you just see him with The Electric Mayhem?)
James Taylor (great songwriter & singer who did SS)
Pam Grier (just because I've...
I never cared for the Shields & Yarnell episode...but then again, I never really liked them either. Just my opinion, I apologize to any fans of theirs.
Hmmm...
I'd have to say a tossup between Alice Cooper and Mark Hamill (along with C3PO, R2D2 and Chewie)...classics!!
Mummenschanz was a great one too!!
