i'm also curious as to why they're releasing it so slowly overseas. it seems strange to me that they would think it has limited international appeal when the muppets were so world famous
i'm sure it's going to do well internationally. anyway, it will end up over 150 million worldwide, which is...
i think it will make another million plus this weekend because it's a 4-day holiday weekend and no new family films are out (except Beauty and the Beast). we'll see
well, i hope people will keep us informed of any press appearances they make in europe over the next month
i'm sure they will do some promotion in britain at least
they underestimated it a bit, it actually made 1.3 million over the weekend
i think maybe it can squeeze out a final gross higher than GMC when all is said and done
i think it may be able to. it's still got the rest of the month and february, and if it pulls out a million per weekend for just a few more weeks it could happen. i think this weekend was some evidence that it could because even though its weekdays collapsed, the weekend still turned out a...
well, it just made 1.2 million over the weekend, so now it's at 85. it could hang around, if it it continues to squeak out million dollar weekends. i'm positive it's going to get at least two oscar nominations for song, so it may do all right for the rest of its run
yeah, it's currently at 84. i was looking back to see what Enchanted did at this point in its run, and it actually made about 7-8 million more before it was pulled from theaters in march
that might be too much to ask from muppets i suppose, but who knows? most of that would have to come from...
it's at 83.5 million now...does anyone know when it's getting pulled from theaters?
i'm just wondering, realistically, how much more it could take in at this point. if it's still in theaters the rest of this month, it could still do a few more million
that's very true. and that's why the movie is undoubtedly a success overall, i just wonder if this is enough for disney to want to do more
because i sort of doubt jason segel will be as involved in another one (maybe producer or something), and he even said his goal was to relaunch them so they...
i just wonder if they're going to look at it as profitable enough to do more
i think at best it can be called a moderate success, and that's mostly because they only spent 45 million on it. if they'd spent 100 million this would not be considered successful. and it reveals the fans to be much...
it's at 82 million now. that's respectable. i don't know where we can expect it to finish off- i guess that depends on when it's pulled from theaters. it's january now so there's no big new releases coming out anymore, not this month.
maybe 85? it seems like a lot to ask for 90, it's been...
i actually think that's what makes MCC a holiday staple now. the fact that it was also a good version of a christmas carol and not just a muppet movie
that's why i love it personally. more than MTI- i don't think that one is that great
yeah, but other than that, i mean- gonzo has camilla at least, floyd has janice, kermit and piggy of course...it just seems with fozzie being one of the big four and all they should have given him somebody over the years
wait, there's going to be a box set of a bunch of muppet movies/specials? is this real?
that'd be awesome. when will this be announced? will the movies be on blu ray finally?
